I currently Subject Lead in Art and Design in a secondary school in Bishops Stortford and have a first class honours degree in Illustration and extensive skills in digital media including web design, image manipulation and design for print. Particular strengths of mine are life drawing and painting. I also have skills in textiles, quilt making, sewing and other crafts. I often like to introduce my students to new ways of working by combining media in creative ways. I have a PGCE in Secondary Art and Design as well as an MA in Art and Design in Education. I have been a loyal student to BCU, where I obtained, both my Fine Art degree and my MA in Art and Education Practice. Planning for my PhD research study too. I became a practicing artist and researcher in the subject of Britishness and modern values since 2003. Working from my studio as well as researching . I am interested in culture diversity and community. I am quite focused on research and combining my work with strong evidence. I also have been teaching Arabic and have strong knowledge of the Middle East culture and I can give support to students coming from the Middle East, including helping them to gain confidence and engage with other fellow students. I also have great experience with special needs, being a mother of an autistic boy.
I have been developing my research skills for 13 years. I am quite an independent researcher and always looking for new methods to reach the maximum point I get to with my research. I believe in creativity and in carrying out new methods that suite different projects. Supporting my art work with strong research give me great credibility.
Supporting others too is a great passion for me. I always been involved in teaching both Arabic and art. I have a MA in Production Design for Film and Television from Kingston University and a BA Hons in Furniture Design and Applied Arts from Edinburgh College of Art. I have worked in the film and television industry since 2004. I lead large teams of specialist designers, art directors, junior assistants, crafts people and construction teams. And I collaborate closely with other experts within the industry including cinematographers, directors and screenwriters.

A production designer designs the worlds in which the TV Drama or film is set. That includes working with location people to choose locations in which to film - and building sets in studios. It can also involve working closely with SFX teams. The role juggles creative vision with practical project management. It's a collaborative media/ industry and relies heavily on communication skills- visual and verbal.

I'm equally at home working through a sketchbook, preparing a portfolio, discussing degree options, or walking a gallery together with a specific brief in mind. Particularly well suited to students who don't fit neatly into one box: A-level and Foundation students uncertain which direction to take or which degree to apply for; those considering cross-discipline or joint honours study; degree students thinking ahead to an MA; and adults at any stage.
