. Hello. I am a Qualified teacher, native to France. I worked for over 10 years in France, teaching in schools and colleges French, computer technology, IT and computer science. In 2010 my wife and I moved to England and I started teaching in schools and giving private tuition. Soon I was concentrating on individual one/two to one tutoring with people of all ages in their homes, places of business, universities or online via Skype. I have many students from referrals.

At present I work with the Leicestershire Adult Learning Service working as an E Learning Champion at Oadby Library. I offer free computer tuition to adults wishing to learn more about the computer or have any puzzling questions that need answering. All learners complete a course called My Guide which helps them learn more about the computer by following a set of modules and topics.

Whilst I was at Moat at during my education at Beauchamp College and Loughborough College I helped to assist/ train a small group in the use of particular pieces of hardware and software At Loughborugh College. Whilst at Moat I assisted staff in the training and understanding of new software to ensure all staff have the confidence to deliver the curriculum and to provide support to staff appropriate to their needs. Tutoring Approach:
My approach to teaching/tutoring is a simple one I always strive to make sure the learner understands whats he/she is being taught and if there are aspects that they find difficult I revise that particular topic over and over again until they understand and I do this using the various teaching methods and learning styles available to ne including the VAK (Visual, Auditory and Kinesthetic) approach.

Personal Description:
I am a chartered software engineer with decades of experience in the industry. With a Cambridge degree and doctorate in AI I have performed a wide variety of roles including AI research, technical support, network engineering, software development, web development, software engineering, systems analysis ... as well as teaching GNVQ, A Level and University Level. Most recently I have been working as a senior manager in a software engineering company. I am approaching retirement age and returning to teaching. I also work in the Prisons Service and the NHS as a psychodrama psychotherapist and have an enhanced DBS. I will be accepting new students in September 2025.

Teaching Experience:
I have taught GNVQ and A Level at Oxpens FE College in Oxford, and I have taught on the Open University Databases and SQL Level 3 (advanced degree) course. My teaching for the Open University was literally exemplary: samples of my teaching were included in their Best Practice guide for lecturers for 5 years. I also tutored privately for 5 years and ran my own evening class courses before taking on my most recent software engineering role.

Tutoring Approach:
I tailor my approach to the needs of the student. At one extreme I will encourage an A* student to follow their curiosity and will support them to find information proactively and develop their problem-solving skills. At the other extreme I will work with a remedial student to identify weak areas of the syllabus, and will provide support on the specific topics we identify. I enhance engagement from students with the use of improvised drama to illustrate and develop themes.

I am a tutor specialising in SQL Server, Databases, Computer Science, Mathematics and English, with experience teaching teenagers, college students and university learners in the UK and India. I hold a Master's in Management Information Systems (Merit) from Coventry University and a Bachelor of Engineering in IT, supported by 15+ years of professional IT experience working with SQL Server, databases and technical problem‑solving. I focus on clear, structured teaching that helps students genuinely understand concepts

Teaching Experience:
I have taught SQL Server and database concepts to 10-15 postgraduate students at Coventry University, covering SQL queries, joins, grouping, database design, normalisation, stored procedures, views and indexes.
I have also provided one‑to‑one Maths and English tutoring to UK teenagers aged 14-16, and taught Mathematics, English and Computer Science to ICSE and college students in India. My experience spans structured lessons, practical exercises and adapting explanations to different ability levels
