I have been teaching in Scotland for approximately 17 years now. I have been involved in a number of SQA and National Projects including tasks such as writing, marking and developing the course.

In my current role, I have full responsibility of delivering the new qualifications from S1 BGE through to Advanced Higher Computing Science. I have made the changes to our course and continue to develop these and the changes have been seamless in ensuring a smooth transition into the National Qualifications. I am also now an item writer for the National 5 course. Teaching Experience:
During my last position one of my key roles was to ensure that all members of teaching staff were fully trained in any IT applications we used at the school. I delivered training to 200+ members of staff either in a one to one manner or class based IT training. Whether you need to brush up on your IT skills which you already have or are completely new to IT, I can provide basic IT training or advanced training courses and can tailor training courses based on people's skills.

Tutoring Approach:
My approach to training is to build on what skills you already have and with communication we can get you to a level you desire. Everybody has different levels which they wish to get to and with my very personal training courses I will cater training completely unique to you. I will provide you with documentation to go with the course materials which we go through remotely so you have something to take away with you at the end of the course.

I'm a passionate Computing Science teacher, with extensive course knowledge and a strong track record of supporting pupils to achieve excellent results. I am fully GTCS registered and working at a school in Scotland teaching Computing Science at National 5, Higher and Advanced higher.

Teaching Experience:
I have 8 years of teaching experience from working in different Scottish schools.

I teach all secondary year groups. I have extensive experience of the Scottish qualifications system. I have a strong track record of preparing and putting pupils through the National 5 and Higher Computing Science course,.

The programming language I primarily work with is Python, although I do have previous experience of using VB and Java.

I am passionate and enthusiastic at teaching Mathematics, Physics, Engineering related modules and Computer related modules including programming as I create an empowering environment for students while demonstrating empathy, pastoral care and patience at all times. I have gained an extensive knowledge base to enable me deliver an outstanding knowledge transfer process to stimulate curiosity, interaction and connection with students in their respective subjects of interest. I have successfully tutored students at GCSE , A levels and BEng programs. Then, I facilitate engagement by starting my lesson from there as I clarify concepts, misconceptions or difficulties. I signpost and support the students by exploring and exposing them to the basic fundamentals of the subject. Then build their confidence in tackling related questions. Hi, I am Daren, a University of Cambridge graduate with a Masters in Engineering. I am currently a full-time software engineer during weekdays and a math & science tutor in the evenings and weekend. I enjoy tutoring and sharing the knowledge, tips & tricks that I have gained over the years to make understanding difficult topics easier.
