I am a qualified Science teacher with over 10 years of classroom experience and 18+ years of tutoring expertise, specialising in KS3 and KS4. I'm a qualified working teacher as well as an examiner for both Chemistry and Biology. Furthermore, I'm Head of Maths and Science at Hackney Community College in Shoreditch. I live in Stockwell Park about 5 minutes walk from the tube. With regard to be a tutor/teacher, I describe myself as approachable, patient and outgoing person. All that I can say is that Ellie is fantastic. When she was teaching myself and my brother A Level Chemistry, she always gave short, concise explanations of concepts in a way that we easily understood. Also, she gave us past paper questions after each topic so that we had plenty of practice at exam technique. She marked these and sent us feedback on what to improve on. This meant that when it came around to do our exams, we were fully prepared for them and confident that we could do well. Following the birth of our daughter 5 years ago, I decided to once again return to full-time tuition in order to spend more time with my growing family.

Tutoring Approach:
I tailor each lesson to suit the student's needs. The first few lessons usually focus on getting to know the student and their strengths and weaknesses. Teaching Experience:
I have been providing tuition in mathematics for over 20 years and have been a secondary school Mathematics Teacher for over 12 years. I have experience teaching to individual students, to small groups and to classes of up to 35 students. I have helped four year old pupils take their first steps in arithmetic and forty plus year old students finally understand how algebra works.

I have helped students gain confidence in their own mathematical ability when they have been convinced by the academic system that they are incapable of doing well in the subject. I have also helped higher attaining students to challenge themselves and aspire to become even better. Most recently I helped 2 students achieve a grade 9, one for GCSE Maths and another for IGCSE Maths. One of these students also received an A grade for Additional Maths. Tutoring Approach:
During the last two decades I have worked with many hundreds of students and have read research studies from academics around the world on the subject of attainment in mathematics. My own experience is in keeping with all the studies I have read about this topic. The overwhelming majority of students can do well in mathematics provided they have the confidence, the techniques and willingness to work hard. Even after only six to eight weeks of tuition, all the students I have tutored have improved by at least one grade or one level.

I tell all prospective pupils there is no magic bullet or shortcut. To achieve success in mathematics a few things are key: understanding the concept well; understanding when and how to apply it in different situations; lots of practice in applying it in different scenarios and short, regular revision sessions. So my only pre-conditions before I agree to work with any student are: a positive attitude; a commitment to put in the time and effort required to bring about the improvement in their grades; and at least one ninety minute session every week.

It is important to me that students should enjoy mathematics and look forward to their sessions with me. To ensure this I use a variety of different resources to explain concepts to students and am a firm believer in using physical and computer based study tools and aides to complement the standard oral and written tools used to teach mathematics. I also believe in linking the mathematics that we study to the real world to increase students' engagement with the topic and their understanding of its relevance. I am very patient and empathetic to my student's needs and once they develop in confidence I encourage all my students to challenge themselves regularly. Depending on the amount of time available, I usually help students cement their mastery of the foundations of arithmetic and algebra before moving on to establish fluency in statistics, geometry and problem solving.

Hello, my name is Robert. Learning and teaching in some form has always been part of my life; my personal motto is "Never stop asking questions....". Teaching appealed to me from the very first day of my PGCE and found the challenge of teaching the kids of today refreshing. I am married and live in Batley.

Teaching Experience:
I have over 10 years of teaching experience at 2 different schools, and currently work as a Progress Leader of Science at a comprehensive school in Bradford. I have obtained several years of exam results that have been well above average in terms of Progress 8, with some classes having obtained on average, 1 grade higher per student.
I have several years of previous experience in tutoring and have undertaken numerous after school revision classes designed to aid students to improve their chances in GCSE exams. I have also performed some mentoring for select students using more one-on-one time for those students that require the extra help.
In addition to this, I am an examiner for several exam boards, as well as a Team Leader for OCR. This experience has allowed me the opportunity to better prepare students for exams.

Tutoring Approach:
I will initially require all the details about the tutee's course at school as well as the grades/levels that they have obtained so far. It will also help to know of the tutee's target grade in the subjects to be tutored. As mentioned before, I will spend time outside the hour preparing resources and planning appropriately so that it maximizes the use of the hour. I will spend the necessary time dedicating my resources to helping you achieve to your potential.
My position at a school also allows me the ability to obtain resources that would aid your tutoring. My approach is to ensure that my students understand the scientific ideas that are a part of their specification, and thereafter ensuring that learning has taken place via exam style questions.
If the lessons are online, your child will have permanent access to all the lessons covered allowing them to use them at a later date as part of revision.

I am a qualified FE teacher in biology and STEMs. I have a Milan University masters degree in biological sciences, a PhD in Molecular Medicine and a Cardiff University PGCE in postgraduate certificate in post-compulsory education and training. I also teach my subject in a FE college at the outskirts of London.

I have a lifelong experience in teaching STEMs and biology-related subjects from secondary to undergraduate level. I worked for universities, colleges, secondary schools, and, educational companies both in the state run and in the private sector.
