I have been the Head of Accounting since 2006, at a large Catholic Sixth Form College in Hulme, Manchester. I am 46 years old, living in Didsbury, South Manchester. I gained my degree in Economics and Finance in 1998 from Leicester University. I began teaching in 2002 so have many years of experience teaching Accounting.

I mainly offer tuition at my home, or a local library, either at the weekend, or weekday evenings. However, I am usually able to offer tuition during the school/college holidays.

I completed my PGCE at Manchester University in 2002. I only teach Accounting AS and A2 Level, and this is therefore my main specialism. Practise is vital in A-Level Accounting, and so I provide lots of opportunity for the tutee to answer accounting questions. I provide support during this, and feedback. Developing a good working relationship with the student is very important - the tutee needs to trust me to do a good job. I think I can provide this: I am patient, understanding, kind and considerate. I can offer these things in addition to the technical knowledge and skills that I have, and as a result, dramatically improve the tutee's chances of success in the A-Level Accounting exams.

I offer tutoring at my home (Dickens Heath, Shirley), tutoring at your home (dependant upon distance and travel time), or tutoring in a central Solihull location (walking distance from the train station and convenient for bus routes and the Sixth Form College).

I have extensive knowledge and experience of Accounting curriculum and assessment requirements. I have helped numerous students, including those with no prior background in Accounting, develop a strong understanding of the subject, improve their examination technique, and achieve excellent examination results.

My most recent tutoring success involved helping a student with no previous Accounting background achieve an A grade in the 2026 SQA Higher Accounting examination, a qualification broadly comparable to AS-Level Accounting in England.
