Information About Romilly:
Personal Description:
I am an artist and qualified primary school teacher interested in textiles, printmaking and material design. My degree was in History of Art and Material Studies so I love all things art. I find art and teaching perfectly complimentary in that the more I learn as a teacher, the more it informs and improves my art practice and vice versa.
Teaching Experience:
I recently completed the Teach First programme and qualified as an outstanding' primary school teacher with a Post Graduate Diploma in Education and Leadership from the Institute of Education (IOE) at UCL. For two years, I was been a Year 4 class teacher and have experience tutoring Year 5 and Year 6 students in preparation for their common entrance exams. I have also tutored A-level students in History of Art. I am currently teaching part time and tutoring in the evenings and on weekends alongside studying at UAL, Camberwell College of Art, where I am pursuing my interest in art and design.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe that children learn best when they are having fun so I try to use creative teaching approaches to maximise engagement. I am enthusiastic about teaching and I want to encourage children and young adults to be intrinsically motivated to learn.
