During the last two decades I have worked with many hundreds of students and have read research studies from academics around the world on the subject of attainment in mathematics. My own experience is in keeping with all the studies I have read about this topic. The overwhelming majority of students can do well in mathematics provided they have the confidence, the techniques and willingness to work hard. Even after only six to eight weeks of tuition, all the students I have tutored have improved by at least one grade or one level.

I tell all prospective pupils there is no magic bullet or shortcut. To achieve success in mathematics a few things are key: understanding the concept well; understanding when and how to apply it in different situations; lots of practice in applying it in different scenarios and short, regular revision sessions. So my only pre-conditions before I agree to work with any student are: a positive attitude; a commitment to put in the time and effort required to bring about the improvement in their grades; and at least one ninety minute session every week.

It is important to me that students should enjoy mathematics and look forward to their sessions with me. To ensure this I use a variety of different resources to explain concepts to students and am a firm believer in using physical and computer based study tools and aides to complement the standard oral and written tools used to teach mathematics. I usually start with the current topics that student is studying in the school and explain to the student that topic and related background knowledge. As I teach one to one, my pace is faster than school and we usually finish the topic in one or sometimes two classes. And then we do previous topics and I explain doubts on those topics. However, all content is still taught from basic to the most highest of levels, to ensure full understanding of all topics as a whole. Hi! My name is Amr, I am a qualified lecturer with and holds PhD and MSc in Pharmaceutical Scinces and Postgraduate Certificate of Education (PGCE). I have over 20 years of teaching experience in Science and Mathematics.

I am passionate about helping students develop confidence, deepen their understanding, and achieve their academic goals. Throughout my career, I have taught and supported students across a wide range of levels, from GCSE and A-Level.

My approach focuses on building strong foundations, improving problem-solving skills, and developing effective exam techniques. I believe that every student can succeed when given the right support, encouragement, and learning strategies.

Over the years, I have helped many students significantly improve their grades, gain confidence in challenging subjects, and secure places at their preferred schools, colleges, and universities.

In 2024 65% of my students achieved grades 7-9 in GCSE Maths and Sciences.
In 2025 some of my students joined Medicine, Engineering and Law.

Teaching Experience:
I am an experienced and passionate Maths and Science Tutor with extensive teaching experience across all three sciences - Biology, Chemistry, and Physics - including Combined Science at both GCSE and A-Level. Over the years, I have successfully taught students from a wide range of academic backgrounds and abilities, helping them build confidence, strengthen their scientific understanding, and achieve excellent examination results.

I am fully familiar with all major UK exam boards, including AQA, Edexcel, and OCR, which allows me to tailor lessons specifically to the requirements, assessment styles, and mark schemes of each specification. My teaching approach combines strong subject knowledge with exam-focused techniques, ensuring students not only understand the content but also know how to apply their knowledge effectively in examinations.

I have a strong track record of student achievement, with many students improving by at least two grades after working with me. One of my most rewarding success stories involved students who were initially predicted grades 3-3 in Combined Science and went on to achieve grades 7-6 in their final GCSE examinations.
Over the years, my A level students have progressed into fields such as Medicine, Dentistry, Mechanical Engineering, and Psychology.

I take pride in identifying individual learning needs, breaking down complex scientific concepts into simple and engaging explanations, and creating a supportive learning environment that motivates students to reach their full potential.

In addition to improving academic performance, I focus on developing students' confidence, independent learning skills, and exam technique.
