I graduated from Loughborough University with a BSc (Hons) in Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry in 2003 and a year later completed my Post Graduate Certificate in Education at the same university. I currently teach all GCSE sciences as well as Year 12 and Year 13 A Level Chemistry at Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School in Ashbourne, Derbyshire. I am a designated Advanced Skills Teacher; recognition of my outstanding classroom practice and the excellent results that this generates for the young people I teach. I work for the Cambridge International Exam Board, being an experienced marker of A Level chemistry. I have 3+ years experience as a tutor of Biology and other STEM subjects and classroom experience based on teaching EFL mostly to juniors. I try to give my tutees a comprehensive understanding of their subject including the relationship between exam papers and their specification, study skills and exam technique and build their confidence so they would eventually be able to study without a need for a tutor and become independent learners. Lesson will consist of prepared notes which will be discussed during the tutoring sessions. There will be supported by use of worksheets and then exam style questions. Each lesson will be based on specific areas of the syllabus that is intended to support the work that is being undertaken in the classroom. This will follow the part of the syllabus being taught in the classroom, to support and re-inforce student learning.

I use videos to support learning and these will be showed used a laptop. I will use a projector (if it is possible). If the student wishes to only look at specific areas if the syllabus, then I will undertake to produce material to support this request.

I am an experienced private tutor. I work with A-level chemistry students who have been excluded for under performance in their schools and get them back to where they achieve an "A" when they take their final exams.
