I am have graduated with a First Class degree Actuarial Science at London School of Economics.
I have achieved A*A*A*A in my recent A Level results and have also represented my country in various mathematics competition which include me winning an Honourable Mention in Asia Pacific Mathematics Olympiad.
Have also achieved Gold Medal in National Physics Competition in my country.

Teaching Experience:
I have previously volunteered with the Salvation Army and had taught GCSE students over there. Overall it went quite well and I saw improvement in their ability to answer questions and attitude towards the subject.
I have also been an assistant Mathematics Olympiad coach. This job required me to lecture some of the best students in Malaysia so that they can score well in national competitions.
Thus, I believe I am able to teach students of different abilities.

Tutoring Approach:
I usually start with the basics. I believe that with a good basic, the student would then be able to improve him/herself to be better instead of just idly solving a question and showing the steps to the student.
Also, I would try to include real life application if its possible so that the student remain interested and understand more about the things being studied.

Taught in primary and secondary schools for 34 years. Over 20 years experience as a deputy headteacher. Have taught the full age range of primary school but mostly KS2 (age 7-11). My main role over the last 15 years has been a Year 6 SATS teacher so I have lots of experience for SATS preparation. My main aim is to improve the ability of the children in the subjects chosen. This year, I have taught my younger brother a 2 year higher level Japanese syllabus in 6 months for his Leaving Certificate exams, as he only found out in January there was a foreign language requirement for the course he wants to take in university. This was achieved through clever resources and study plan. With only 6 months tuition (one quarter of the usual 2 year syllabus time), my brother passed higher level Japanese with a grade equalling between 50-60%.

While in Japan I taught Japanese students English as a Foreign Language, from ages 4 to 20; in Ireland I gave casual English lessons to a Lithuanian woman who already had conversational English, but wanted to better understand certain English grammatical points; I also have a TEFL 160 course to teach English as a Foreign Language.
