Privet! My name is Anastasia and I am an experienced tutor and teacher of the Russian language. I am originally from Moscow and have lived in the UK for over 15 years, during which time I have loved helping people to understand Russia and its culture by learning its rich and fascinating language.

I have taught people of all ages and abilities in a one-to-one setting. I have also taught Russian in classroom style at GCSE level in school. I have much experience in tailoring learning to the needs of individuals and in flexing my approach to suit particular styles.

Tutoring Approach:
Within the first session, I discover the individual needs of my learners, their strengths and weaknesses. Then I devise a plan to address the whole programme of study within the number of weeks available, so no topic is ignored. I work simultaneously on exam requirements, but also on skill development, skills that the student can benefit from, outside the boundaries of a specific exam format. Students find themselves forgetting the time, often engrossed in their work, mentally challenged and stimulated. I set short homework at times, so that students can practise independently on those skills they develop with me, being reassured that they can transfer those skills further. I do provide learning materials which I do personalize for each student. I am very likable and I do make young learners be at ease within minutes of meeting them.

Hello, my name is Angel, I am a qualified teacher of Psychology and Languages (Spanish and French). I have a BSc in Psychology, an MA in Psychoanalysis and Philosophy, an MA in Languages and Translation, an MA in English Literature, and a Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training. I'm a Medical Student at Anglia Ruskin University, I've worked hard to get to the stage I am.
During GCSEs my strongest subjects were Maths and Science. During A levels my strongest my subjects were Maths and Chemistry. I believe I've always found those subjects interesting and simple to understand because of my approach to learning the more complex topics. And this is something I'd like to share as I understand how confusing and difficult it can for students to wrap their head around a subject when there are many other subjects to study for. I am a chartered software engineer with decades of experience in the industry. With a Cambridge degree and doctorate in AI I have performed a wide variety of roles including AI research, technical support, network engineering, software development, web development, software engineering, systems analysis ... as well as teaching GNVQ, A Level and University Level. Most recently I have been working as a senior manager in a software engineering company. I am approaching retirement age and returning to teaching. I also work in the Prisons Service and the NHS as a psychodrama psychotherapist and have an enhanced DBS. I will be accepting new students in September 2025.

Teaching Experience:
I have taught GNVQ and A Level at Oxpens FE College in Oxford, and I have taught on the Open University Databases and SQL Level 3 (advanced degree) course. My teaching for the Open University was literally exemplary: samples of my teaching were included in their Best Practice guide for lecturers for 5 years. I also tutored privately for 5 years and ran my own evening class courses before taking on my most recent software engineering role.

ever since starting tutoring my aim has always been to cater to the needs of the tutee.
i.e. I have tutored Spanish A level in the past so the aim here was to improve at grammar skills, therefore the focus of the tutoring sessions would mostly be on exam preparation questions, topics that may come up and then 15-2o mins of the session would focus on other areas such as speaking, listening, reading, writing.
I always offer the tutee to travel to them so it is all done in their own comfort.
