My name is Tim and I'm based in the Caerphilly area. I am happy to work anywhere in Caerphilly, Cardiff, Newport or the Valleys. I am a primary school teacher and have 24 years experience working with children within the age range 6-11.

I have been a primary school teacher since 1986 and have worked across the age range from 6 to 11. I have a good deal of experience teaching children in Year 6 and preparing them for the step up to secondary school. Hi, I have always had a love for languages and would love to instil you with the same enthusiasm. After having lived abroad as part of my degree, I then graduated with a BA Hons Degree Class 2.1 in Modern Languages (German, French and Italian), after which I obtained my Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). After teaching, I also worked for International companies, using my languages extensively by liaising with customers and colleagues overseas and also translating and interpreting. I have always kept my languages fresh by reading foreign literature and keeping in touch with German / French friends. I am mother to 4 children, but even after my children were born, I continued to do some freelance translation. As a mother and as a teacher, I know the importance of patience and how important it is to make learning worthwhile, enjoyable and fun!

Half French/half Scottish, I was born and brought up in France to Scottish parents. I am now based in London, but Paris is still home for me. Studying French and Spanish at University College London gave me the incredible opportunity to live in Madrid for a year, where I became fluent in Spanish. I then went on to train as an actor at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. Acting and tutoring aside, I am an avid theatre-goer, film buff, food-lover and I love travelling, whenever the opportunity arises.

Teaching Experience:
As an experienced Trilingual French and Spanish tutor; I come highly recommended (references on request), produce great results (Level 9 at GCSE), and hold a valid CRB certificate. I am an Economics graduate from Hanover University, Germany and teach part-time in a successful private college in the city of Bath. Since 2004 I have been working as a freelance tutor of Economics, as a translator (from English into German and vice versa), as a journalist and book author. Prior to that I worked as a technical support engineer for four years and as an office manager for six years. I live in Bath, am married and have two children. I love teaching, especially Economics, because it deals with some of the most fundamental problems of our society. To solve them we need to understand Economics.

Since 2004 I have been tutoring AS and A2-level students in small groups and one-to-one, and university preparation courses in classes of up to 15 students. I have taught the AQA, Edexcel, and OCR syllabuses. Most of the individual students were re-sitting exams, most of whom improved their grade, often significantly.

First of all I ascertain any particular areas the student needs help with most urgently. I then review the basics with the student to make sure that these have been well understood. I am a Classicist with degrees from Cambridge (BA) and Durham (MA, PhD) universities and have been tutoring for over 10 years. My current work focuses heavily on Latin literature, as I am preparing to publish a commentary on Martial's twelfth book of epigrams, although I am equally able to offer assistance to students of classical Greek literature.

I am passionate about Classics and communicate this enthusiasm with my students, whilst helping them to achieve their goals - whether that be passing examinations or securing a place at the school or university of their choice. Teaching Experience:
I have extensive experience in tutoring Latin and Greek at all levels: ranging from complete beginners to advanced university level students. I am very familiar with assisting students prepare effectively for GCSE and A-level examinations in Latin, Greek, and Classical Civilisation. I develop a set of papers targeted at the exam texts every year.

I also have a wide-ranging experience in providing tuition for the entrance and scholarship examinations for many major English Public schools. Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tuition will of course largely be dependent upon the needs and ability of the respective tutee. For GCSE or A-level students, however, I believe that it would always be best to begin each lesson with a quick test on a point of grammar and vocabulary, and a literary stylistic feature (e.g. identifying a chiasmus etc.), since these formal aspects essentially underlie the series of unseen exams from GCSE - A-level. After this test, each lesson should focus on a text, ideally alternating each lesson with a text that is prescribed as one of the set texts for the respective exams with an unseen passage. This approach tends to produce the best results since the unseen passages give a true indication of the student's strengths and weaknesses and help the tutor to understand more easily what aspects need to be prioritised.

My name is Amandine and I am studying a Master's degree in Education and English teaching in France while being abroad for a year. I graduated from Université de Bretagne Occidentale (Brittany) and Bangor University (Wales) with a BA in English Literature, Civilisation and Linguistics.

I work as a fully DBS checked French Language Assistant in a private boarding school. I am currently working with GCSE and A level students, of all abilities, on their speaking exams.
