Personal Description:
I have graduated at Cambridge University in 2014, studying Mathematics and achieved 2:1. Since then, I have worked for 6yrs in the investment and finance industry, heavily involved in financial analysis, and am a CFA Charterholder.
I would like to help young people to pass their exams well. I am passionate about teaching, and would like to pass on my knowledge to anyone who seeks it. My aim is to improve the confidence of the pupils, and to make them more interested in the subject they are tutored in.
I have achieved A stars in my A Levels for Further Mathematics, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in 2011, and 10 A stars and 2 As in my GCSEs. I have taken my A Levels/GCSEs at Whitgift School, where I achieved a 10% Mathematics scholarship in 11+ entrance exams.
I will be available for tutoring on weekend mornings.
I also offer intensive courses in SATS/GCSE preparation during my available dates.
Text/Call or email me, for details on availability. I check my emails and phone on a daily basis.
Teaching Experience:
I have tutored my sister and cousins in their Mathematics exams, with some success.
I have also helped a few other A-level mathematics tutees through tutoring websites, who have achieved As in their A levels, and a few younger tutees in passing their 11+ entrance exams. I hope to raise my teaching experience through UK tutors.
Tutoring Approach:
I will help pupils through their class/home works via their textbooks, personalised Q&A, and worked examples. I will also offer my own knowledge to help them through rough patches and broaden their knowledge too. I will work the pupils hard, and hope that the pupils put in the effort too!

Personal Description:
My language learning journey started in the same way it does for most of us - at secondary school. I fell in love with the French language at an early age and went on to complete an honours degree in French Studies at the University of Birmingham. During my year abroad, I lived and studied in Montréal, where I took classes in French, Italian and Spanish at McGill University and also fell in love with the Spanish language and culture.
I am passionate languages and helping learners build their confidence and reach their language learning goals, whether it be for school, exam preparation, work or pleasure, and I aim to do so in a purposeful and structured yet fun way.
I firmly believe that anyone can learn a language and make progress, whatever their starting point might be.
Teaching Experience:
I have over ten years` cumulative experience of teaching in secondary schools and I have taught French, Spanish, English Language and English Literature. As well as my work in schools, I have been working as a private tutor since 2012,
Over the past 20 years, I have also taught on many English as a foreign language courses to young learners in summer schools and also to adults for general and business purposes in Wiltshire and in North London. I delivered a course in English for business purposes at an Italian legal firm in central London.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe a positive working relationship between tutor and student is the cornerstone of a successful learning experience. I aim to make my students feel at ease and safe to take risks in order to build their confidence and experience success. I tailor lessons to each individual's learning needs and preferences so that the student is always at the centre of the learning process. I use a range of materials in my teaching including online resources, worksheets, games, speaking activities, and past exam papers where appropriate.

Personal Description:
If you needed a doctor, dentist or lawyer then you would want someone who was fully qualified and very experienced. So don't settle for anything less when you need a tutor. To get the best out of your tutoring, and hence the exam grades you want, make sure that you are getting the following:
1. Someone who will sit beside you and teach you in person. If the covid-19 pandemic has taught us anything then it has taught us that online tutoring can't hold a candle to having a teacher in the same room as you.
2. Insist on someone who is a qualified teacher. Just because someone has passed a few exams themselves doesn't mean that they will be able to teach their subject well. That's precisely why we have teacher training, to help people learn how best to convey that knowledge to others.
3. Insist on someone with plenty of experience. Practice may not make perfect, but it usually does make one a lot better, and this is often the case in teaching.
4. It's very important that a tutor knows their subjects very well and really enjoys them. Without both of these they are never going to be a good teacher.
Let's see how I measure up to these criteria. Well, I only teach in person, and from my home. On several occasions I have been offered online work, but always refused it, as I really do believe that I would be offering students a much inferior service. I have a Joint Honours B.Sc. in chemistry and physics, and for my PGCE my main subject was mathematics, and my secondary subject was physics. So I am well qualified in all the subjects that I offer: maths, further mathematics, chemistry and physics. My PGCE is from the University of Leeds, which has a very good reputation for its teacher training. I also have many years classroom and tutoring experience. As for knowing and enjoying my subjects, those who come to me for tutoring can see my large collection of maths, chemistry and physics books. I have also had a subscription to Scientific American for decades. I read maths and science for fun. Maybe that's why I gave up a very lucrative career as a software engineer to become a teacher. This is also why usually I only offer tutoring at A-level or equivalent, because I particularly enjoy teaching at this level. However, I am currently accepting a limited number of Y11 Higher Level Maths GCSE students.
Students studying maths might also be interested to know that I have written books about the best graphics calculators and also the Classwiz. So it's very likely that I'll be able to show you how to use your calculator much more effectively, which could save you time and mistakes in your exam.
Over the years many students, and their parents, have been very happy with my tutoring. Perhaps you will be too.
Please also note that I ONLY TUTOR FROM MY HOME: no exceptions. Among other reasons, this allows me to teach many more students, some of whom have been known to travel a considerable distance in order to get the right tutor.
Teaching Experience:
Let me be very frank. In the UK teaching in most schools is much less enjoyable than in many other countries. Behaviour, and what the school is prepared to spend on a teacher are often major issues. For students who genuinely want to learn this has serious implications. How qualified and experienced a teacher is may not be be a school's main recruitment criteria. Foremost may be their cost. A well qualified and experienced teacher will cost significantly more than a much younger one, so many older teachers' applications are often passed over. Also much greater weight may be given to classroom "management" skills, rather than the ability to teach ones subject.
Most of my time teaching in the classroom has been spent abroad, with a lot of it in private schools. For these schools neither behaviour nor salary is a major issue, so they recruit and retain teachers based on how well they can teach their subjects. This is the environment in which I have done my many years of classroom teaching. My years in the classroom have been spent in schools where ones teaching ability is paramount.
In regard to tutoring, this has been my main source of income for the past ten years, and most of this time has been spent teaching A-level, or the equivalent. It's probably fair to say that I spend many more hours teaching A-level than most classroom teachers, and as such I know what most students need, and where they are likely to experience difficulties.
Among the schools whose students I have recently tutored are: Ashmole Academy, Dame Alice Owen`s School, Enfield County School, Enfield Grammar School, Highlands School, Hockerill Anglo-European College, Princess Helena College, Southgate School, St. Michael`s Catholic Grammar School, The Latymer School, The Royal Masonic School for Girls, and Woodhouse College.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe that when it comes to teaching I know my subjects very well. So you don't have to tell me in advance what you require help with. If you come to me for tutoring you will be able to ask me, on the fly, about any maths, physics or chemistry that you are having problems with, and I would expect to give you good help immediately.

Personal Description:
I'm a Clinical Psychologist with a doctorate in Clinical Psychology. My doctoral research used machine learning methods and a network approach to investigate treatment outcomes in psychological therapies for eating disorders, and this work has been published in a high-impact scientific journal.
I have experience and knowledge spanning multiple areas of psychology and human biology, including scientific writing, research design and planning, inferential statistics, and applying psychological theory to real-world practice. I am passionate about data-driven approaches to researching treatment outcomes and enjoy sharing this enthusiasm with the students I tutor and mentor.
I offer tutoring in human biology up to Highers/A-Level and Psychology up to Doctoral level. Whether you need support for your child in preparing for exams, help navigating undergraduate coursework and tricky statistics, or mentorship while writing your doctoral thesis, I would be delighted to help.
Teaching Experience:
I have been tutoring since 2014, working with students of all ages and abilities. I am particularly experienced in supporting students with specific learning difficulties and other forms of neurodivergence, adapting my teaching style and pace to suit each individual's needs.
In addition to tutoring, I am experienced in providing mentorship to undergraduate and postgraduate students. This includes developing effective study skills, supporting dissertation and thesis planning and writing, and guiding aspiring psychologists through the application and interview process for the Clinical Psychology Doctorate (DClinPsy).
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tutoring is collaborative, structured, and tailored to the individual. I believe that effective learning happens when students feel supported, understood, and appropriately challenged. I take time to understand each student's goals, strengths, and areas for development so that sessions are purposeful and aligned with their needs.
Drawing on my background in psychology, I use evidence-based learning strategies to strengthen understanding, critical thinking, and long-term retention of material. I aim not only to help students master content but also to develop their confidence, independence, and academic skills.
I adapt my teaching style and pace depending on the student, whether that means breaking down complex statistical concepts into manageable steps, refining academic writing through structured feedback, or building exam technique through guided practice. For students with specific learning difficulties or neurodivergence, I incorporate strategies that support organisation, processing, and confidence.
Ultimately, my goal is to create a supportive and motivating learning environment where students feel empowered to ask questions, think critically, and reach their full potential.

I am an avid reader who also loves singing and teaching. I studied English and Drama at Queen's University and then went to Newcastle Upon Tyne to study for a secondary English and Drama PGCE (teaching qualification). I have also worked as a full time youth worker and love working with young people. I have tutored adults and children in my spare time. More recently I have worked as a substitute teacher in Primary and Secondary and had a baby!
Teaching Experience:
I have taught secondary English for 15 years to all ability levels. I have also tutored pupils in their homes and from home and have marked GCSE English Language. I have taught primary pupils and further education pupils and taught some TEFL (English as a foreign language) too!
Tutoring Approach:
I like to get to know the person and try and tailor my approach to their needs. I have used many techniques including mnemonics to help pupils break exam questions down into smaller chunks and structure their response to ensure they thoroughly answer their questions. I also enjoy helping spark pupils' creative ideas for developing writing tasks. I try and encourage pupils to take ownership of what they write and foster awareness of how grammatical errors can go unnoticed if work is never planned or edited sufficiently.
