I started teaching Italian as a foreign language while studying languages and literatures at university. I kept teaching part-time for 3 years to students of various ages and levels until I graduated.
I then pursued a career in advertising: I worked as copywriter and trainer of new employees for 6 years. I had the opportunity to train new colleagues from all over Europe. I loved training so much that I decided to go back to language teaching, but full-time. Lessons are completely in Italian and are designed according to the principles of the communicative method, which makes authentic Italian material the starting point that will lead students to explore and discover the language in a spontaneous way.
You will be learning Italian and Italian culture through different texts and activities. My resources are the latest Italian learning text books, but also literature, songs, videos, articles and games.

I have studied PGCE Mandarin at a university in the Uk and obtained a qualified teacher certificate. I am teaching Mandarin at a school in the south of England. All of my students like my teaching because not only can they learn mandarin listening, speaking, reading and writing, but they also enjoy learning about the different Chinese cultures as well as taking part in many activities at the same time. All of my GCSE year students have achieved A* grade GCSE Mandarin. I am a mandarin native speaker and I used to be a compere on the stage in China. I taught Chinese language and Chinese dancing in a Chinese school in the UK for 14 years.

I have seen students` confidence in their abilities increases and their understanding deepens. Both students and parents have offered positive feedback from the great improvement in their grade as a result of my tuition. For example, a student`s grade in A Level Physics improved from originally an E to an A after my tuition, while others attend their preferred schools after help revision for their entrance exams.

Teaching Experience:
After various school placements, such as teaching classes at St Aidan`s (ranked amongst the highest achieving comprehensive schools in the country), for over five years I have helped a multitude of pupils ranging from as young as six through to mature students.
I also mark papers as a Team Leader of examiners for a major board. I feel this gives me an invaluable perspective when preparing my students for their own tests.
I am familiar with the different examination boards, particularly AQA, Edexcel, OCR, CIE and ISEB. I have studied Computer Science at Newcastle University for four years, achieving well above a first and received an award for graduating top of the year in my masters. With over 7 years of experience in the finance industry as a software developer, I bring real-world insights to our sessions, helping you bridge the gap between theory and practical application. I have recently quit in order to start my own business, which also allows me to be flexible with tutoring hours.

I teach online via FaceTime and/or Skype from my home and at students' homes. I use Skype or Apple FaceTime. The video feed can be switched off at my student's request, or if it degrades the sound quality. Tests and exercises are sent to the student and returned to me for marking by email.

As part of my job I have run a number of training courses communicating complex ideas to a range of people. I live in St Neots and am registered with the Institute of Physics as a Chartered Physicist and hold a PhD level qualification. I have undergone an enhanced DBS check.

I began providing tuition in Physics and Mathematics on a part time basis in 1994 while studying for my PhD and have helped over 100 students prepare for their exams.
