I am a qualified teacher with more then seventeen years of experience of teaching which spans nursery, foundation, primary and 11-19.

I am presently second in charge in science at a secondary school and I teach chemistry, biology and physics across KS3 and KS4.

I have passed a Chemistry postgraduate course. This has improved my subject knowledge to be able to teach chemistry to 'A' level. I also can teach biology to 'A' level.

Tutoring Approach:
Before I begin to tutor, I will assess what level you are currently working at. I will also speak to you in depth about what you do and do not understand about a topic.

I will then take you through the topic at a pace that you feel comfortable at. You will be set homework to test your understanding. In preparation for exams, you will be given ideas for revision that will help your style in learning and pass papers to prepare for exam format.

I am a motivated, organised and friendly young woman. I love working with children and I am passionate about sport. I want to become a teacher and I am currently working as a classroom assistant at a high school. I am mainly in maths supporting foundation and higher curriculum at key stage 3 and 4 . I received an A at maths at GCSE and understand the curriculum fully. I studied Sport Science with Coaching at Northumbria University. I have had substantial experience in numerous schools and with a range of departments. I am very capable of working one on one with children and also with groups of children.

Teaching Experience:
I have had work placements at Haydon Bridge High School teaching P.E to ages 13-18 for a period of 6 weeks, then assisting various classes for 75 hours over 4 months. I undertook several roles; teacher, clasroom assistant, organiser of fixtures and one on one tutor. I also returned to Haydon Bridge High school as a volunteer, assisting in P.E lessons.
I am currently emplyed as a classroom assistant at Queen Elizabeth High school. My main role is to work with one or two children with Special Educational Needs within the classroom supporting their learning. I may also have to work with a whole class, supporting all the children. It is vital for my role that I understand and can teach the curriculum, as I may have to work outside the classroom with the child and will need to tutor them in that subject area. Every child is unique. They each have their own way of learning and have different abilities in a variety of areas. This can not always be addressed within a school environment, as it can be difficult to differentiate the topic which is being taught to a large number of pupils. I understand that each child will work at a different rate therefore my rate and style of teaching will alter to suit the student. I believe that tutoring is about guiding a child to find their own way towards an answer and not making them follow your way as they may not understand the process which you have followed. I can also comprehend the amount of work which students are having to complete weekly, thus I would not supply them with a large workload alongside their normal studies.

I am a 36 year Deputy Head Teacher living in Glasgow. I relocated from Blackpool 12 years ago! I have a degree in drama followed by a post graduate degree in primary education from Lancaster; as well as various sports coaching qualifications.

I am able to teach a variety of subjects and I have also taught maths up to national qualification levels.

I am GTC registered as well as PVG cleared to work with children and vulnerable adults.

Teaching Experience:
I am a primary school teacher but I also have experience of working with high school aged children, particularly in maths. Most of my experience comes in the 5-11 age bracket.

I have worked in both England and Scotland and I currently hold a post as a Principal Teacher within North Lanarkshire. I have a particularly good knowledge of phonics and helping children develop strategies to enhance their reading skills.

Tutoring Approach:
I have high expectations of children as I believe this then fills them with the confidence to push themselves to achieve. I enjoy working with children and like to teach rather than give worksheet after worksheet, I like to use a mix of interactive resources along with more traditional approaches. To sum-up my tutoring-ethic in few words: I am as dedicated, hardworking and motivated for my students as a teacher as I am for my own studies. I am currently delivering lessons to secondary school students online and preparing them for their upcoming SQA exams. Over the years of studying for National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher exams, I have complied all the resources that were most used and praised by teachers as well as students preparing for their exams and use them readily to prepare my students.

Before tutoring a student, I identify what qualifications they have received previously in that particular subject as well as what exam they wish to prepare for. Then I highlight the contents of the course, provide the student with resources and give online lessons via Google Meet in which I share my screen so the student can see a Miro whiteboard that I use to write notes and explain/solve questions on. Throughout the lesson, the topics that we cover are revisited through homework questions that I set my students to ensure they have sufficient practice and that they can readily apply their knowledge.

Developing the ability to solve different types of questions challenging you from different angles on the same topics, is what is challenged repeatedly in SQA exams which require efficient skills in problem solving. I help equip the student with the knowledge, practice and expertise to deal with exam-type questions after we have covered the theory (notes/topics) of the subject.

I also take into consideration their learning style when teaching them (i.e. visual learner - drawing diagrams and images, auditory learner - asking verbal questions during lessons, kinaesthetic (doing) learner - making quizzes and tasks).

I work in my local area of Plymouth and online. I have over ten year's main stream teaching experience in a classroom environment and eight years as a tutor/specialist. I've taught Music, English, Science, Maths, Art and Primary (KS 1 - 5). I`ve run my own department. As I'm also a musician I've taught guitar, cello, violin, keyboards and music theory. I use many different approaches to encourage development. I'm experienced in working with SEN. I`ve achieved excellent results with pupils with specific learning difficulties and behavioural problems. For the last 20 years, I have conducted a number of corporate trainings for my team and mentored them on various areas. I love teaching and have tutored my classmates at school and university. I would help them in Maths and all 3 sciences. At uni, a good part of my studies would be done just by tutoring my friends in Maths (topics like Probability, Algebra, trigonometry) Chemistry (organic and inorganic) and human biology. I believe that each student is different and needs a very specific approach. I will first try to ensure that the concept and the base of the subject is strong before we go on to a number of past paper questions and exercises. I believe that the best way to learn is to see how any problem can be tackled, go through the thought process and then apply what you know to the specific problem and solve it.

I will first see what the student finds most difficult and what their weaknesses are and then strive to overcome them. Each student will have their own learning methods, some may learn by understanding the whole concept then going into the exam questions, some want to go through exam questions while they are learning the concept to see how the theory can be applied to the problems. Some may learn visually with experiments or examples whereas others will learn through trial and improvement of their own. I will spend the first session finding out how they like to learn and design a program just right for that individual student.
Hopefully once we start tutoring, the students will feel much more confident with the subject and the key to success for any exam is self confidence. I will always be there as a guide, a mentor, a friend to help them through what they find difficult.
