I have successfully tutored students at home for the past twelve years. Last summer, three of my GCSE students achieved A* grades and my A level students grade B, C and A. I am friendly and relaxed and my philosophy on home tutoring is that each student is very individual and will have preferred learning styles - I plan each session according to these.

I would expect to initiate pupil-centred learning involving the student as much as possible in debate and discussion, avoiding being a merely dispassionate purveyor of facts. Teaching should not involve lecturing, but encourage guided self-discovery with the student, especially at 'A' Level.

I am 34 year old female, looking to support learners with their education. Teaching has always been my passion since I was a little girl, and this has continued to grow as I have gotten older. I was diagnosed as dyslexia went I joined university, and this has yet to stop me from being successful. The fact that I struggled my way through school, has meant that I am particularly keen in supporting students who do not always find things easy, I believe I am a good role model to students with needs, and am proof that barriers can be overcome. The main thing when it comes to tutoring is finding a way that matches how the student learns. It it's important for the student to feel comfortable with myself and they are not afraid to ask for help when they need it.
