Personal Description:
Hello! I'm Chloe, a fully qualified GTCS-registered Geography teacher with over 15 years of classroom experience teaching in Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire. I currently teach in a high-performing secondary school and have extensive experience preparing students for National 4, National 5 and Higher Geography examinations.
Alongside teaching, I regularly mark SQA exam papers, giving me an excellent understanding of the marking standards, common mistakes students make, and exactly what examiners are looking for in high-scoring answers.
I provide friendly, supportive and personalised one-to-one tuition designed to build confidence, improve understanding and help students achieve their full potential. Whether a student is aiming to pass National 5, secure an A at Higher, or simply gain confidence in Geography, lessons are tailored specifically to their individual needs and learning style.
Lessons can take place in my home, the student's home, a local library or another mutually convenient location.
Teaching Experience:

* Current Geography teacher in a high-performing Aberdeenshire secondary school.
* Experienced teaching S1-S6, including:
* Broad General Education (S1-S3)

* Regular SQA Geography marker, with up-to-date knowledge of current exam standards and marking criteria.
* Fully GTCS registered and PVG certified.
Tutoring Approach:
Every student learns differently, so every lesson is carefully tailored to suit their individual strengths, areas for development and learning style.
Our first session will identify current attainment, confidence levels and specific goals. From there, I create a personalised programme focusing on the areas that will make the greatest difference to achievement.
Lessons can include:
* Understanding and mastering difficult Geography concepts
* National 5 and Higher exam preparation
* SQA exam technique and answering exam questions effectively
* Developing knowledge of case studies and key geographical processes
* Improving extended-answer writing and evaluation skills
* Practice with past papers and detailed feedback using current SQA marking criteria
* Building confidence and reducing exam anxiety
* Developing geographical skills, including:
* Ordnance Survey map skills
* Four and six-figure grid references
* Graph and data interpretation
* Decision-making and evaluation
* Use of geographical terminology
My aim is not simply to improve grades but to help students become confident, independent learners who understand how to succeed in Geography. Lessons are engaging, supportive and focused on achieving measurable progress, with many students seeing significant improvements in both confidence and exam performance.
