Personal Description:
I am currently working as a data analyst for Enfield council and have completed Masters in Information Security from Royal Holloway, University of London. I enjoy reading novels. I am passionate about teaching and love working with children. Apart from teaching, I also proofread dissertations & academic reports. Being a musician I enjoy listening to classical music. I am a pianist and a singer. I am a writer and have written various articles for my college magazines and for the local newspapers. I also enjoy playing ball badminton and was also a state level champion.
Teaching Experience:
Worked as a teacher in Fatima Matriculation Higher Secondary School teaching Computer Science for students of Classes 9 and Higher Secondary (Equivalent to UK 'A' Level) for a period of three months from Jun 2007 - Aug 2007. Have handled 150+ students from the age groups of 12-14 and 16-18 during this period.
Worked as a part time teacher in an association school for the socially backward students between the age group of 5 - 10 teaching English & Maths and helping them understand subjects for a period of six months.
Trained the first and second year Undergraduate students of my College in Computer Science Basics during my second year Christmas vacations.
Was a private tutor teaching 4 - 5 children in within the age group of 9 - 12. Subjects that I thought included Science, Mathematics, English, History & Geography.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe that tutoring should benefit both the parties involved and should be an interactive, fun-filled & intellectually stimulating one. Hence this should be done innovatively involving various activities that create awareness. I feel that it is important to help students explore and understand their skills & enable them understand submects in a more practical way. This is achieved by carefully choosing the appropriate approach for every student individually depending on his/her strengths, ideas, likes etc and tailor making various activities to suit their needs.
