Personal Description:
Hello, I am a private tutor available for one-to-one tuition in GCSE and A/AS-Level Maths and Physics

I have a degree in Physics from Imperial College and a Masters in Astrophysics. I also have a passion for these subjects and I love teaching others. I am a young and friendly tutor with an approach that students find relaxing and rewarding.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored privately for over six years in Bath and London - a cumulative 8000 hours of one-to-one lessons. I also teach A-level Physics, Maths and Further Maths at a Bath tutorial college.

Tutoring Approach:

I aim to provide a friendly and enthusiastic environment for learning. A relaxed student is key to productive learning.

The lessons are focused on the needs of the student, which we set out in the first lesson and are continually adaptable. I like to be organised and keep the student fully aware of their bigger learning picture.

Everyone is welcome. I have very flexible hours and can travel to you if you're not too far or you to me.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching drama students from the of age 6 - 60 since 1999. With some of them moving on to be successful actors themselves. However, I do understand that not all students want to be actors and approach each individuals needs accordingly.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that drama isn't just about 'acting' but also provides an outlet for self expression, it develops imagination and artistic awareness; it increases social and mental freedom, fluency of speech, self respect, self confidence and above all... it's FUN!

Drama gives students the opportunity to learn how to co-operate with others, aids orderly thinking and the ability to organise. The benefits do not only accrue through students participating actively in dramatic activity, they also learn through observing others.

I will provide what we hope you will see as the perfect balance of education, play, and stimulation. I run to a carefully planned curriculum paying equal attention to ALL my student's needs in our group sessions. I am also committed to a two way communication process with parents to ensure that we have total understanding and support.

I use practical explorations on how to make, perform and respond to drama. Our workshops encourage students with:

Confidence
Self Expression
Team Working Skills
Speaking and Listening
Emotional Intelligence
Community Involvement
Development of Practical, Creative and Intellectual Skills
Use The Student's Own Work As A Stimulus
Understand The Importance Of The Process
Cross Curricular Links With Literacy

Personal Description:
I am an OCR Chemistry A Level examiner (specification A) and a teacher in a sixth form college. I have a PhD in Biochemistry (Distinction) and Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Distinction). Currently, I am only taking tutees studying the above mentioned specification, in order to provide highly specialised support. I offer tuition in person as well as online.

I have a PhD in Biochemistry (Distinction) and Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Distinction). My hobbies are varied, but I would mention football and chess.

Teaching Experience:

I have been an A Level Chemistry classroom teacher for four years. The knowledge and skills gained from delivering this specification allows me to tailor lessons to my tutee's needs. My resources and worksheets range from introduction of topics to activities that challenge students to the A* grade. I am aware of typical problem areas where students struggle as well as common misconceptions, and I tackle them in ways that students feel comfortable with. In addition to A Level Chemistry, my classroom teaching experience also includes GCSE Chemistry and HND in Applied Chemistry Level 4 and 5 (equivalent to first and second year of a chemistry degree).

My experience as an A Level Chemistry examiner enables me to guide students on how to maximise their performance in exams. I work with my students through mark schemes, helping them to interpret them, and revise independently. I emphasise the need for accurate terminology in explanations and clear working out of calculations. Also, I help students understand the structure of standard exam questions as well as approaches to unfamiliar ones.

As a private tutor, my teaching approach varies depending on the needs of the tutee. I have experience in helping students starting A2 , resitting AS, students aiming for A*, and students with special needs.

Tutoring Approach:

In the first lesson I show original documentation for identity, proof of qualifications and DBS (previously known as CRB) to my students and their parents.

I offer the first lesson as a free no obligation lesson, which is only charged if students decide to continue to have further lessons with me. Therefore if after the first lesson you are not fully satisfied and decide not to come back, then you would not have to pay for it.

My approach to teaching students consists of the following steps:
-To establish a good atmosphere between the student and myself.
-To identify the student's current level and the difficulties they are experiencing in the topic we are going to start working on.
-To define the learning objectives for the session so that students have a clear idea of what they need to learn.
-To keep a continuous interaction with the student during the whole lesson though questioning and different activities in order to keep the student engaged whilst I can check if learning is taking place.
-To evaluate the session in terms of what the student has mastered and what needs further work.
-To set homework so that the student consolidates the acquisition of new concepts and skills.

Personal Description:
I am 27 years old male from India. I did Engineering from Delhi University and then pursued MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow. I am a Math enthusiast right from my childhood days and had scored 99% in my secondary exam. I am going to be here in London for quite some time for an assignment from my firm and, in the mean time, would like to carry on with my two passions, i.e., teaching and mathematics.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching mathematics as a part-time job for last 7 years. I have taken classes for individual students as well as for group of students with levels spreading across primary to secondary classes to preparing students for entrance exams.

Tutoring Approach:

Mathematical understanding influences decision making in all areas of life-private, social, and civil. Mathematics education is a key to increasing the post-school and citizenship opportunities of young people, but today, as in the past, many students struggle with mathematics and become disaffected as they continually encounter obstacles to engagement. I believe if I could make students relate the concepts to real-life scenarios and encourage them to apply their minds they will learn the most. So, the three key principles at work here are:
a) Relating to reality - Increasing engagement
b) Learning by doing
c) Encouragement and Motivation

Personal Description:
I am an Arabic linguistics PhD student at the Language and Linguistic Science Department of the University of York, UK. I hold a BA in English literature and linguistics as well as an MA in translation studies. My study makes me familiar with written Arabic and spoken Arabic in its different forms (dialects). This is why I am quite familiar with Egyptian, Syrian, Lebanese, Gulf and Sudanese Arabic. In addition, I am also a CELTA-trained teacher and an Assistant Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in the UK.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught English as a foreign language for 10 years at Minia University, Egypt. I also taught Arabic to adults as well as young people for 5 years in England. I teach face to face and online.

Tutoring Approach:

My teaching depends on immersing you in enjoyable daily-life situations so that you can easily imitate and, after not too much effort, read, write and speak Arabic/English like a native speaker. Culture cannot be separated from language. So, I also immerse you in the main cultural aspects of Arabic/English-speaking countries in general and offer a brief background to language as reflected in culture. Also, I try to compare Arabic and English (as a language) and the culture represented by it with other languages, including French and German (languages that I am familiar with).

ENGLISH at all levels - I tutor English from primary, through key stages, to higher education levels. I help students get through their exams, enjoy literature, and achieve the grades they need.

WRITING A GOOD ESSAY FOR YOUR DEGREE - Helping students transition from writing school to university level essays in all arts subjects. This is often a difficult leap, and I provide tutoring on structuring essays, citing academic sources and referencing, and clarifying one's argument. I also tutor adult learners returning to studies after a long gap, and undergraduate university students who are adjusting to a postgraduate level of academic writing.

VOICE and PUBLIC SPEAKING - Do you have to give a presentation at work, or does your child need to feel happier speaking up in school? Are you frustrated about being told you are "softly spoken" and would like to project your voice without straining? Through voice exercises, presentation practice and relaxation exercises, I can give you the tools to speak confidently and engagingly (without that crippling fear). I adapt this work to all ages.

ACTING CLASSES and AUDITIONING FOR DRAMA SCHOOL - my acting & performance skills were honed at RADA (a lead drama school) and I use this experience to tutor students who wish to audition. I help them select monologues that suit them, and coach them through the preparation process. I use games, text exercises, movement training and mock auditions to give them the best chance of success. I also teach voice and relaxation techniques to handle nerves on the day.

CREATIVE WRITING - I have training in creative writing, playwriting and dramaturgy. If there is a story you'd like to write I can help you through the process and teach exercises to counter writer's block.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored English for a range of ages, including school students, adult learners and university students from Birkbeck, University of London. I also have experience with M.E / Chronic Fatigue young people working outside of school.

I have been a visiting tutor for the Short Courses department of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, teaching Shakespeare, contemporary text and devising theatre. My other drama tutoring work includes Leuchars Community Drama, Haringey Shed and Notes of Fun.

Tutoring Approach:

My goal is to tutor my students to feel confident in their subject, and rise to the challenge of any exams, auditions or interviews that may come their way in their academic and professional lives.

To achieve this, it is essential to me that students enjoy the tuition process. This encourages them to improve in their chosen field, without feeling forced to wrestle something they hate.

I believe that to enjoy learning, a focused one-on-one approach is essential. As schools and universities have so many students through their doors, they cannot provide full assistance for all. In academic writing and English in particular, too many students fall through the cracks of the main system and lose confidence in their abilities. My job is to prevent that.

I therefore tailor my tutoring to the needs of each individual and discuss thoroughly with them at the start of the process what they want to get out of the sessions, and what difficulties they would like to overcome. All my exercises, games and homework are therefore specifically tailored to meet those needs and revitalise their interest in this subject.

Personal Description:
Currently a PhD Researcher, with a passionate for Music of all genre. With over twenty years experience of tutoring and mentoring, in the business industry as well as music.

Have the ability to inspire, and to help achieve individuals dreams, allowing them to follow their dreams. Some of my students have become pop stars, musicians, Organ Masters, Choir Masters, songwriters and conductors.

Teaching Experience:

Whether your passion is in English Literature or Music, being an instrument (Clarinet, Saxophone, Flute or even down to the Keyboard, Piano or the King of the Instruments, The Organ), I have the knowledge and expertise to help you achieve that burning ambition.

My knowledge and experience will help you with examinations, ranging from basic Key Stage 3 to Degrees (BA/Masters) or even up to Fellowship, in the above-mentioned subjects and including Theory of Music, Harmony, Song Writing, Composition and Conducting, if that wasn't enough I also include English Language to Creative Writing.

I am a retired professional musician, a tutor and mentor, educated to Doctorate level in Music, and currently working on a PhD in Creative Writing. All ages are welcome. Learning is undertaken at your pace not mine. There is no right or wrong way to teach, it depends on the student, how quickly they grasp the subject matter. If one way doesn't work, then we try an alternative method.

Personal Description:
Having recently completed my professional accountancy examinations I am looking to begin tutoring on a part time basis from
September 16.

Teaching Experience:

I have not tutored previously but have volunteered at King Athelstan Primary School (1 year), mentored placement students (1 year) and taught dance (3 years) whilst undergoing my university studies.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring would be the same method I have used in my personal studies: gaining a sound understanding of core areas of the syllabus throughout the academic year with past paper practice being the ultimate key to success.
