Teaching Experience:

I've previously tutored French up to GCSE level and Spanish and Italian up to A-Level standard. I am a TESOL qualified English teacher with experience working abroad and have also tutored primary school children in languages.

Tutoring Approach:

I prefer to tailor my approach to the student, depending on their age, level and what they hope to get out of the sessions, as well as their preferred learning style.For younger children I would tend to include more activities, whereas for students studying for exams I would focus more on helping with coursework, revising topics covered in class, and exercises.

I can honestly say that he is the best tutor I have encountered.
He is dedicated to his work, has always arrived when expected and is thoroughly prepared both for the individual lesson but also with a scheme of work for the months ahead to ensure that the syllabus is covered.

I have to say that both myself and Matthew have been incredibly impressed by you and your enthusiasm, preparation and encouragement. The fact that Matthew arranged the extra lesson this week is testament to this!
I know he can be a bit uncommunicative at times but he has told me how helpful the sessions have been.
I don't know if he told you but he has decided to have a gap year and personally I think he probably needs it to really work out what he wants to do. I think this has taken the pressure off him and I can honestly say he has been happier and worked harder since he made this decision.
If anything it has made him more focused about getting the best grades he can.

2017-2018 academic year: My program will provide the basis of all student with ability in "the Sciences and Mathematics" subjects (A's at GCSE level) to provide the opportunity to obtain the top grade in AS/A2 physics

The 'timetable' and order by which each part of the syllabus will be approached will follow the AQA examination board's timetable. For students joining after the commencement of the academic year, those parts of the syllabus already covered will be 'returned to' during the 'revision period' after Easter

My tutoring sessions are always: 2 hours. They can be taken either:

1. Once per week: full coverage of the syllabus (AS/A2: including Options) plus significant time, each week, devoted to answering questions based on past papers

2. Once per two weeks: full coverage of the syllabus (AS/A2: including Options) plus time, each week, devoted to answering questions based on past papers

In addition to having the 'physics abilities', students will need to understand how to approach examinations and examination questions. There are different variations, each year, but with detailed subject knowledge and significant practice on exam style and past paper questions there should be no type of exam question that should cause any concerns to any student

To ensure a top grade (A/A*) the student will need to commit to additional study, over and above these two hour sessions:

Subject notes will be provided each week, in advance of the lesson, covering the topic to be covered during the lesson - the student will be expected to have already gained an "overview" of the subject area prior to the lesson commencing and take additional notes during the lesson

Each week, following the lesson, each student should complete sufficient exam style and past paper questions to ensure that they have obtained a comprehensive understanding of the subject area and detailed knowledge of 'typical' exam questions

Additional background reading will also be provided that will reach beyond the syllabus giving a deeper understanding of the "concepts" and "background" of the area of physics being studied - this will ensure clarity on the "physics concepts" that are examined in the final year papers each year

Following each lesson (excluding revision and examination question and answering sessions) the diagrams and other material used during each lesson will be provided, so that the student can compare the information with the notes provided and taken during each lesson - building up a complete 'library' of detailed knowledge on each subject area in the syllabus

It is expected that the student will spend (at least) two hours each week, in addition, to the two hour lesson and all school/college work

NOTE: The work program detailed above should not be at the exclusion of the students 'other subjects' - however much time is allocated to physics each week should be replicated with the student's other subjects

Essential planning:

To be prepared for the end year (A2/AS) examinations it will be important to start preparing early

By Christmas time (2017) each student should have produced an 'outline' revision timetable, covering all subjects - without going into detail here, the plan should include all 'known activities' (school/college/personal holidays, mock exam dates, field trips etc.) and periods allocated to revision of each of your subjects, so that a balanced and comprehensive plan for all subjects will attained

Note - 'downtime' should also be included - students should have a practical and balanced approach to secure the best results possible. Peaking too early or 'brain overload' are recipes for underperformance in examinations

I will assist, as required, throughout the period up to when the end year exams commence - this revision timetable will change over the period until the exams start, with the final months becoming more detailed - it will assist in allocating your 'known' resources

Tutoring style:

My lessons are highly interactive

In addition to the printed notes, the student will be expected to add additional notes of their own during each session

My students are fully engaged in all of the lessons and are expected to interact within the lesson

Worked examples and opportunities for students to complete typical exam questions will be part of every lesson

The lessons are delivered from my widescreen laptop making use of theory, pictures/diagrams, interactive GIFs, short videos to help introduce topics and emphasis on specific core material

On approaching (mock and final year) examinations periods:

1. I provide one session on "examination technique" (following AQA best practice) and adopt a rigorous question answering method to ensure that:

(a) Maximise the marks obtained for all mathematical and comprehensive style questions and

(b) In the event that any of my students fall into a "grade boundary" this question answering methodology will ensure the examiner will recognise the 'knowledge of physics' of my students and should ensure an upward grade where required and

2. Take the students through past examination papers to ensure that each 'style' of AQA question solving is well practiced

Flexibility will always be part of the process - if there are specific areas or concepts the student wishes to spend more time on, this time will be allocated

Tutoring Approach:

My teaching method for is based on tasks and the PPP paradigm (presenting a subject, practicing by repetition, matching or filling and producing in the context of a particular task). This approach allows the students to learn by practicing in their real communication situations and to progress in a very short time!

The type of materials I use are generally design by myself, using authentic documents as reports, conversation recordings, emails, hand outs and I also use general linguistics and grammar manuals and essays to support my research

Using a task-based approach, you will be focusing in particular missions and I will give you the tools to accomplish them and I will be designing a individualized programme from your personal or professional targets.

Basically, this is a very practical methodology based on learning by doing.

I have been tutoring for 4 years since I was in my high school. My recent experience in London was about 4 months ago right before the A-Levels exam, I taught a British-born Arabian within 2 months and managed to bring his grade up substantially ( from E/D to B) and earned him a place in University of Exeter.

Tutoring Approach:

Different from most teaching styles portrayed in class, I use different ways of explaining from either easy or intermediate levels to relate to specific chapters in the text book. While text books being the main course material, rather than asking my tutee to blindly remember all the formulas, I will teach them to derive all of them and understand the meaning implied within.
I strongly do not encourage remembering the questions from past year papers, instead , I will teach the very basic- the essence of specific chapters to understand and to master and this will arm my tutee with the ability to answer all type of questions during the exam. What do you see in this world? I perceive the world as a colorful and colours always represent me. I like drawing and painting when I was a child, painting and drawing enable me to be peaceful and patient, inspire me to become a sophisticated designer. Since childhood, one of my biggest dreams is to become a sophisticated designer and artist. It has always been my dream to travel around the world to gain more knowledge with different art history from other countries.

I was suffering from severe skin allergy that I needed to visit doctor all the time in F.4. The skin allergy had put much pressure on me, affected my academic performance at that time, forcd me to drop out of secondary school. I felt miserable all the time during the period of recovering, so I focused myself on an activity I always love - drawing. Through drawings, I was not only able to find joy and release my stress, but also able to improve my drawing skills.

As I was recovering gradually, I enrolled in the Diploma in Vocational Education (DVE) of Jewellery Arts and Design in Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education to pursue my interests in arts and design. The program equipped me with skills and technique in making jewellery, drawing and design technique with design concept, development and finalizing design work etc. I enjoy it very much since I could learn the in-depth knowledge in jewellery and arts. Also, I learnt some practical skills such as annealing, brazing and casting, which I could later apply these skills on jewellery arts making. Every time I completed a piece of jewellry, I could feel contented with a sense of achievement and got promoted to my making skills.

After graduating from the DVE programme, I continued my studies a Higher Diploma in Jewellery Design and Technology at the same school. The programme have provided me with lots of specialized and professional knowledge in gemology, further design and making skills. Throughout the programme, I learnt various gemstones and had seen many stunning designer pieces made out of them. Also, the programme had not only provided me intensive training on hand sketching, but the knowledge on Jewellery CAD , a design and manufacture software for jewellery, all these professional skills enable me to create designs for jewellery. During my studies, I have an opportunity in participating two jewellery competitions and I was selected as the finalist of both competitions. Although I did not win those competitions, I had obtained valuable experience which could utilize them in the coming challenges as well as chances to get to known the industry.

I had much curiosity in the jewellery industry and therefore working in a jewellery company as a part time designer when I am still a student. My works have been shown in jewelley fair. I received many positive comments from our customers who shown their interest and expressed that they appreciate my designs for their fruitful elements. I am delighted and grateful to receive their comments which had inspired me to be a further encouraged me to become a successful designer and a art teacher.

Personal Description:
I am a native English/Spanish speaker, an American and Spanish dual national, born and raised in Europe. In my free time, I enjoy travelling, going to the cinema or relaxing with a nice cup of coffee and a good book.

Teaching Experience:

I have dedicated the last 10 years of my career to foreign language teaching in the USA, Spain and the UK. I have taught in state and private schools with primary and secondary students as well as adults. I have also taught employees of a range of companies in the north of Spain.

Tutoring Approach:

Accustomed to learners of all ages and levels, I use the communicative method. I am a firm believer that foreign languages must be spoken and used from the beginning. My teaching focuses on all skills, speaking, listening, writing as well as the use of correct grammar. I adapt my teaching to the needs of the learner and can provide my own learning materials if necessary.

Personal Description:
I am a friendly and enthusiastic coach, and I believe everyone has the ability to achieve their personal best in their chosen subject. One to one tutoring can be an enormous help, because it provides the key to identify and unlock the students potential in a supportive and positive environment.

Teaching Experience:

After graduating with a Diploma in Art & Design from Bourneville Art School, I then studied Philosophy &Theology, lived in Paris and Vienna and spent some time working as an independent artist. Later I went into business and was a successful Operations Manager, Trainer and Coach in a number of sectors.

Recently I have concentrated on my artistic career and currently have over 8,000 followers on social media.

I am currently available and welcome enquiries from individuals seeking to develop their skills.

I believe in working with each individual, getting to know them and identifying their potential. Together we can then agree on a a development pathway that enables them to realise their journey and reach their goals.
