English Language and Literature - I have a degree from The University of Oxford in English Language and Literature. I also completed a full a-level in each subject separately, and I am therefore happy to teach either at any level. I currently teach one student for A-level English Literature and one student for GCSE English and, over the past year, I have helped 5 more students with exam preparation and coursework for GCSE and A-level English Literature.

Maths - I have been teaching key stage two maths privately since November 2007 and I am up-to-date with the curriculum and preparation needed for Key Stage Two SATS examinations.

Sociology - I have an A-Grade a-level in this subject and I am undertaking a sociological/political masters. I am happy to teach this subject up to a-level.

Entry Exams - This year I have also worked for Insight Education - a company which helps to prepare students for Oxbridge applications. I am very familiar with the Oxbridge application process for all subjects, and I am also preparing two students specifically for Oxbridge entrance for English Language and Literature. Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tutoring is very much dependant on the student. I believe that different people are suited to different learning styles and therefore I always take the first couple of sessions to assess how a student likes to work and what their difficulties might be.

I like to set 'homework' tasks - even if they are very short - to encourage the student to develop the skills they are learning in their own time. I am happy to mark additional work and essays in my spare time and to e-mail students with any advice or feedback that they may require whilst working on a particular assignment.

I have had experience in teaching and aiding children of various ages. I completed a work experience module in a primary school, dealing with P.4-7s for most of the time. I was also a mentor to groups of S.1 and S.2 pupils during my last year in high school.

Recently I helped a foreign language student at University level by proofreading her undergraduate dissertation. This experience allowed me to further develop skills necessary for a successful tutor.

Tutoring Approach:
As a recent graduate I am very aware of the pressure involved in exams, and so my approach to tutoring is to make the experience as enjoyable and stress-free as possible.

I believe that the only way to teach a child or young person effectively is to build a rapport with them. The student should always be able to relate to their tutor, and with my school days still relatively fresh in my mind, I am able to communicate well with pupils of high school age.

I have always found past papers to be the most effective way of preparing for course and exam work. If a student understands the framework of the test ahead, then the preparation for it can be focused on specific areas for a more detailed knowledge. With English courses spelling and grammar are always vital, and this is another key area of focus I like to address.

Enrico Bertelli (Montebelluna (TV - ITA) 29/08/1984 - ) Italian Percussionist, Musicologist.
Deeply interested in Contemporary Music, with a special emphasis on the Percussion music repertory. A rich background mixes the theoretical preparation achieved through university, with the instrumental skills gained through intense studies at the Conservatoire and at the various master classes.
Since moving to the UK, worked closely with composers, investigating the possibilities of percussion instruments and trying to push the conventional boundaries. This demonstrated by work with composer Jack White in the duo Percatronics for percussion instruments and live electronics.
Firmly convinced of the importance of an informed performance, constantly approaches every piece both as a performer and as a musicologist. This duality helps achieve a better understanding of the music and enables communicating with the audience with sounds and words.
The current PhD in Contemporary Performance - Percussion at York University, follows an MA in Performance Studies at Cardiff University (Distinction), BA in TARS - Tecniche Artistiche e dello Spettacolo at Ca'Foscari University - Venice and Diploma in Strumenti a Percussione at the Conservatorio di Verona both with top marks.
Recent teachers: Ruud Wiener (vibraphone), Igor Lesnik (multi-percussion), Jasmin Kolberg (marimba), Matteo di Francesco (marching band) at the Giornate della Percussione at the Conservatorio `G.B. Pergolesi` in Fermo (ITALY). Michael Burritt (marimba) (Evanston - IL). Current Teachers: Chris Brannick (multi-percussion and Ghanaian music), Michael Skinner (Basle drumming and orchestral techniques) at GSMD (London).
Recent performances: AIAF - Asolo International Art-film Festival (Italy), Libera Universidad de Madrid (Spain) and Sonic Fusion Festival (Edinburgh - Scotland). Many other concerts in Contemporary Music Festivals in Italy where held with Brake Drum Percussion, De Mallet Duo, Ensemble l'Arsenale, Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto. Before entering the profession, he worked with Cardiff University Chamber, Contemporary and New Music ensembles and won the Second Prize at the Concorso del Teatro Filarmonico di Verona. Principal percussionist in the Youth Orchestras Ecce Gratum, La Rjouissance and Banda F. Visentin with solo playing and tv broadcastings.
Enrico writes regularly for Finnegans - Quarterly Contemporary Art Review and the Cultural Association Impero Bizantino.
As a concert manager, Enrico has been working towards the performances of the Brake Drum Percussion, Hesse Student at the Aldeburgh Art and Music Festival, and takes care of logistics and management of the music festivals in Italy Concerti di Primavera (Paese - TV), Contemporaneit Sonore (Roncade - TV), Finestre sul 900 (Treviso).
