Personal Description:

Hi
I have a Geography degree from Birmingham University and I have taught Geography since 1973. Recently I have concentrated on A-level geography, tutoring students studying OCR, AQA and Edexcel syllabi. I am fully conversant with the new Geography syllabi. I am available for catchup over the summer if required.

I am a retired head of department of Computer Science from Barton Peveril Sixth Form College.I have also worked as a software engineer. I have taught and tutored A-level Computing for approximately eleven years. I enjoy teaching programming both for AQA and OCR. I program in Visual Basic..

I have been teaching AQA A-level Environmental Science for the past 5 years and enjoyed this very much.

Tutoring Approach:

I tailor all lessons to my students and try to vary the lesson format as much as possible. I look for gaps in skills and get student to practice as much as possible both with guidance and independently. I encourage students to make revision materials that are usable and not too time consuming, I provide mock examinations so that students can see what sectors need improving. I want my student sot do as well as they can.
