Hello! I am 47 years old, originally from Denmark and moved to the UK 20 years ago for my degree. Before teaching, I worked as a monkey veterinary technician in the US, conducted my Masters research on crop-raiding macaques in Indonesia, and helped to run a volunteer expedition in the Amazon. After a couple of years of teaching in secondary school as a Science and Spanish teacher, I heard the call of the wild again and travelled for a year through Mexico and Central America. As to tuition arrangements:

Firstly, we will discuss your goals and any areas where you particularly want to improve. We will plan the first lesson and I will inform you about some simple resources to be ready to start. We normally set up some homework to be submitted before the first lesson but this depends on the student's needs.

Subsequently I will enrol you into an online classroom designed for uploading resources, submitting homework and receiving specific feedback on it. The next step is our first lesson, where you will have a very active role and get practice, tips and continuous feedback. Following I will set you targeted homework to cement your knowledge. If after the first lesson you are not fully satisfied, you will get all the lesson fee back.

I follow the spiral learning approach and aim to review topics with my students several times to enhance their depth and long term retention of knowledge.

It also raises a lot of interesting discussions including about the equivalents of certain cultural phrases in English.

Teaching Experience:
Currently, I am a freelance Arabic and Egyptian dialect teacher. I have been teaching since 2007 and I have taught students of all ages ranging from 5 to adults. I have also taught all levels, from complete beginners to advanced.

When teaching children, I like to make the lesson as engaging and interactive as possible, using games, songs, flashcards, coloring pictures and roleplays.

For adult students, I rely mostly on authentic materials from a wide range of media such as songs, talk shows, and news outlets, as well as materials that I have created myself.

I have experience in teaching at all skill levels and adjusting my materials according to the student's specific requirements:
Reading: range from basic words to articles
Writing: ranges from texts to emails and essays
Listening: ranges from basic children's stories to news reports and documentaries
Speaking: ranges from basic general day-to-day conversation to discussing any preferred topic and debate and job interviews in Modern Standard Arabic or dialect whilst always practicing pronunciation.

Tutoring Approach:
I am flexible, and keen to help the students to achieve their goals in learning the language. all my lessons are tailored according to the student's needs.
