I have always wanted to be a teacher and this has been demonstrated through my choice of work experience in year ten. I grew up with a passion for education and learning. I was educated at a state school and being of the new young generation I can relate to all of the trials and tribulations endured by youngsters having either experienced them myself or knowing someone who has. I graduated in July 2012 with a high 2:1 in BA French from the University of Southampton, and I spent 9 months living in France as part of my degree. After university I worked at a translation company as a project manager, where I was able to study towards my Postgraduate Diploma in Translation in my spare time, studying via distance learning with the University of Bristol. I have since moved into higher education, working across different roles within the space.

In my free time I enjoy baking, travelling and anything active - I'm always off running, hiking or cycling!

I studied medieval languages, literature, and history at the University of Cambridge before completing an MA in Medieval Studies at the University of York. I then moved to La Rochelle (France) in 2016, where I taught English in two schools. After spending 4 months in New Zealand, I began teaching English at the Sorbonne University in Paris (2018-2020). I am now in the process of completing a PhD which focuses on medieval literature and languages (including Old French). I take a keen interest in language, especially French, and enjoy sharing this with my students.

I also privately taught English to a French businessman in preparation for his travels in Australia, and to a young student studying for his baccalaureate exams. This overwhelm students and could stress them as they may find they have not had enough time or opportunities to prepare themselves for the Speaking Exam or writing skills.
It is, essential to review past papers and study the specific requirements for a given exam; however, this is not everything, and I believe that there are some more general principles which help across the board. For example, writing techniques, translation, and of course motivation and focusing in grammar will help to achieve the best possible outcome.
