As part of a distance-learning Masters degree in association with FUNIBER and the Universidad de León, I carried out an ethnographic action research project using a democratic approach called Community Language Learning. It incorporates translation, transcription and recording techniques.

When I am not working I love volunteering, practising ice skating or track cycling with my daughter and also growing an edible garden !

I was born in Madrid where I trained as a primary teacher and classical musician (cello and chamber music).

I teach fun, friendly and safe classes and specialise in the practical and realistic application of martial arts, self defence, personal safety and self protection techniques with a strong emphasis on personal improvement and development, especially when dealing with fear in both physically threatening and non-threatening situations.

My junior classes consist of safe, fun, martial arts techniques covering martial arts such as Karate, Kickboxing, Judo, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ), and Self Defence. Martial Arts is proven to help improve many aspects of children's lives, including health, discipline, concentration, confidence, behaviour and listening skills. Our classes include fun drills such as dodgeball to help enhance technical skills.

My Teen and Adult martial arts and self-defence classes cover realistic applications of martial arts, such as Traditional Karate, Muay Thai Kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), weapons and knife defence, Kali Escrima, and other Japanese, Chinese and Filipino Martial Arts as well as practical self-defence skills.

A qualified maths teacher and Chartered Civil Engineer with over 20 years' experience in the civil engineering industry. I am able to quickly identify areas of maths knowledge that requires improving in order to pass exams and also help learners to relate maths to the real world.

Teaching Experience:
My maths teaching experience has covered senior school, 6th Form, Further Education and Higher Education.

Tutoring Approach:
I can offer online tutoring over Zoom (or similar) as well as face to face - I am passionate about supporting people with their educational development goals. Being able to relate to learners struggles and difficulties in understanding maths, I have proven methods and skillsets that allow my learners to flourish in any area of mathematics they require assistance with.

Whether you require some intensive sessions in the run up to exams, have yet to be successful in maths or require the whole syllabus covered, I am here to help. Many of my learners have had poor prior experience with maths education or educational challenges/special educational needs that have, with my help, been able to realise their full potential.
