I'm a certified teacher working as a tutor for students in Norfolk and across the UK. In university I completed a specialist in psychology, while also minoring in English literature. I mainly focus on online tuition, delivered using Skype or other platforms. While most of my online students are in KS3, GCSE and A-Level (and degree students for psychology), this option can work for students who are in year 4 and above, so long as they are familiar with the basics of using computers. For maths, I make use of Idroo, an online whiteboard which is useful for practicing questions. For computing, I am able to assist with programs relevant to both Microsoft Windows and Chromebook.

Teaching Experience:
I started working as a tutor in London and Surrey in 2013/2014, mainly for students who had been excluded from school. In 2015 I relocated and began tutoring private clients in East Anglia. In 2016 I started offering online tuition, first using Skype, and now with Zoom. I now tutor virtually all of my students online, though I will occasionally tutor at a student's home when my schedule permits.

Tutoring Approach:
For younger students, I assess them on their first appointment to see where their strengths and weaknesses are. I then focus the lessons on the areas they need improvement in, using an individualized approach that is suitable for that particular student. I also help students prepare for examinations, such as the GCSE; in this case I mostly focus on giving them tasks and questions that resemble what they will face on their tests.

For A-level and degree students, I'm usually asked to provide assistance with a specific task. For example, I've helped my students construct outlines in order to structure their essays, answer typical questions that will come up on their exams, and proof read their essays to check content, clarity and grammar. I can also clarify theories that are difficult to understand and help students generate ideas for their thesis.

İ am a graduate of veterinary medicine and worked as a veterinary surgeon for three years before moving to research. Hello! I am a native Russian speaker from Kaliningrad, who came to the UK in 1996. I have lived in Yorkshire longer than in Russia. My life is truly split between the two countries and I love and teach all things Russian and English! I am a qualified teacher in both RF and UK. We often decide on a core textbook to follow. I stay up-to-date with all the new textbooks and online resources available on the market and read their reviews by the teaching community. Decades of tutoring experience enable me to recommend the best textbook for the learner's level and the purpose of the study. But sometimes no textbooks are involved and we learn the language through films, documentaries, photos, artwork or internet materials.

The learning experience with me may not be just the paid contact time, but your individual learning plan is supported by appropriate materials and complemented with extra books and articles to read, films and documentaries to watch, and podcasts to listen to. I set enough homework for self-study to keep your learning process ongoing and therefore, fruitful. We will either work towards a set goal (exam or test) or take it easy. I give tips on best learning strategies and consult on how to prepare for and obtain great results from such exams as Pearson Edexcel GCSE and A-Level, Cambridge IGCSE First Language and TORFL. I act as an independent examiner for the speaking exam.

In my current role, I have full responsibility of delivering the new qualifications from S1 BGE through to Advanced Higher Computing Science. I have made the changes to our course and continue to develop these and the changes have been seamless in ensuring a smooth transition into the National Qualifications.
