I qualified as a Printed Textile Designer from Polytechnic of East London, on the BA Hons in Combined Studies Course.

From this I gained a valuable insight into the fashion and textiles industry, working with design studios. My love for creating designs continued on to the Masters Degree course at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, where I worked for Terence Conan Design Studios.

I developed an excellent rapport with artists and designers in the industry and decide, after several years of working for top high Street retailers as a fashion and textile designer, to build my own company up whilst teaching in Further Education. I became Head of the Fashion and Textiles Course in a top London college. Here all my students on the BTEC Diploma Level 3 and Level 4 courses gained work placements with Vivienne Westwood, Zandra Rhodes and many more. Many entered into their first choice Universities with my knowledge of putting their portfolios together and teaching life drawings to accompany their portfolios.

I am a Musician and Music Performer that has been teaching for 7 years as instrumental tutor as well as delivering sessions for primary classroom. Ben has been working with my boys for past 4 months now and I couldn`t happier with my choice. My boys are really happy to be tutored by Ben. They feel that their confidence has increased and look forward to working with him. As parents we feel Ben knows child`s ability and aptitude like the back of his hand. Ben has taught my son for Eleven plus since September and I can see my kid doing his daily homework himself without expecting our help. We can see the way of reading has changed and now he looks for new words and try to find the meaning.

Most importantly, Ben develops the wrap over the kid and takes control of reading and writing completely, leaving us in the back seat to see he completes the daily homework. This is great, as we don`t want to study class 4,5 again or teach a different method than thought in school.

We have been impressed with Ben`s knowledge, experience and commitment. He is reliable and always turns up on time. Ben has excellent teaching skills and my daughter significantly improved in class from lower to top groups. I`ve seen him working really hard with my daughter while preparing her for 11+ and he knows the tricks to make the pupil understand the exam technique and how to improve academically. I have recently moved to Sheringham after teaching art in London for several years. I am now focusing on my career as an illustrator and, parallel to that, I am interested in offering private tuition to CGSE and A-Level students completing their Art & Design or Photography course.

Having worked with numerous students over the years, I have developed my ability to support each individual in their unique creative style and interests. I always focus my guidance on the students meeting the assessment objectives of the GCSE or A-Level courses, to achieve the best outcome possible.

I am very familiar with the specifications of the exam boards and have created the curriculum for the Art department from KS3 to A-Level. I have a strong understanding of how to develop students' creative skills, both conceptually and technically.

I am experienced in both traditional techniques and mediums, including drawing, painting, print-making and 3D artwork, as well as using design software, such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

Tutoring Approach:
It is very important that each student feels the artwork they create during their GCSE or A-Level course is personal and meaningful to them.

During my tutoring sessions I focus on my student's interests in terms of themes and techniques and plan a series of small achievable goals for them to complete, including the homework set by the school teacher. Each task is checked for quality and completion before we move on to the next task. I provide direction in terms of research and references to inspire the student, based on their chosen themes, as well as examples and tutorials on using a range of materials and techniques. At the end of each session I communicate with the parent/carer and give them a clear report on what progress has been made and what tasks I have set to be completed for our next session.

It is important to understand that my role can only be to guide and demonstrate and not complete the work for the student, as this work would not be allowed in the student's GCSE/A-Level portfolio.

Having taught these courses, I know how demanding they are, but I also know how rewarding it can be for students to unlock their creative potential, given the right support.

I'm a recent graduate of the university of Liverpool having studies chemistry BSc. I picked the course since i enjoyed chemistry at both GCSE and A level, creating a spark within me and led me to picking the challenging yet rewarding course. Hi, my name is Maahi, and I am currently a student at St Dominic's 6th form, studying Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics at a level. I received an outstanding set of GCSE grades and my set of results was even published in the school newspaper. I like helping younger students in any way possible, in year 10, I helped those who have come from foreign countries or have a lower reading level and have difficulty reading to become fluent readers through a 'reading buddies' programme. That was when I realised that I am good at teaching and helping students. After that I tutored the younger children in family and friends and helped them get amazing grades for SAT'S and gcse's and I want to extend this to everyone that wants to receive good grades and achieve their dreams.
