I have an MA in Classical Philology and Russian Studies from the University of St Petersburg and am qualified to teach Russian, French, English and Latin. Since graduating in 1978 I have worked extensively in language teaching and translation / interpreting. I have also worked in France for 3 years and attended an interpreting school in Paris (ISIT - Institut Superieur d' Interpretation et de Traduction). Hi guys, to start off with my academic background: I studied at Winchester College and Cambridge University.

I was generally a straight A* student at Winchester, and in my final exams I received some of the highest Cambridge Pre-U grades in the UK for my subjects of Philosophy & Theology, Russian and French (these were D1, D1, D2 - which translates in A-Level terms to A**, A**, A*). At Cambridge I studied a mix of Theology and Philosophy, with a focus on philosophy (ethics and metaphysics), history and literature papers.

In terms of my personal background: I was born in London and have lived in Islington most of my life. I've travelled a great deal, and in my gap year I spent stretches of time living in and travelling around America, Italy, Malta, Russia, Jordan and Pakistan.

Over the years, I seamlessly integrated teaching into various jobs I had, catering to diverse age groups-from school-age children to adult learners.

I've enriched the educational journeys of thousands of students throughout my career, a source of immense pride. Thanks to my guidance, students have not only excelled in school exams but have triumphed in entrance exams to prestigious Russian and Russel Group Universities. Many have propelled their professional journeys to new heights. Notably, some of my students have mastered English to such a degree that they secured admission to the Academy of Foreign Intelligence-a feat known for its formidable challenges.

I have over 25 years of experience in teaching English as a foreign language and 12 years of experience in teaching Russian as a foreign language. I offer the following tutoring:
