I have been a teacher for many years having received my PGCE in 1992. Since that time I have worked in a variety of schools in the state and private sectors both in London and Oxfordshire. I actually started teaching as soon as I left University in 1993. In those days, I did not have teaching qualification. I then decided to get some experience outside education. I charge 50 pounds/ hour for lessons around King's College and London School of Economics (the Strand / Embankment/ Waterloo / SouthBank) and in Camden Town. I can travel to other places in zone 1 and zone 2, but I charge 65 pounds/hour.
DURING COVID CRISIS, I am offering ONLINE tuition at 45 pounds/hour for A-levels or advanced maths, and 40 pounds/hour for GCSE maths.

Over the last 5 years I have been teaching Maths from within my own home.

Tutoring Approach:
The goal of each and every lesson is to make the sessions as interactive as possible. By engaging pupils at every opportunity, the lessons become really enjoyable with the students learning an awful lot more than if they were simply to be handed workbooks. There are many tutors that will take this approach and just watch a student go at it, I prefer to be much more involved! I also make new learning games everyday and this is a big reason why my students have been so successful at all ages.

My name is Ellie and I'm a History graduate. I have been teaching English as a second language in Suzhou, China for the last year. I am experienced in teaching particularly Chinese students, using IPA with a focus on oral speaking. I have a TEFL in China certificate and an International Child Protection Certificate. I also have HSK3 Mandarin Chinese

Teaching Experience:
I taught ESL at a school in Ghana for one month. For the past year I have been teaching a wide range of ages and levels in Suzhou, China. I completed 2 weeks on intensive teacher training in Beijing where I sat classroom-based and paper-based exams and received a TEFL in China certificate. Since then I have taught grade-8 students at two middle schools in Suzhou. I also tutored one-to-one and small groups of adults, teenagers and children. I performed demonstration lessons in classrooms with children I had never taught before and had numerous classroom assessments. In September I will be going to teach at Suzhou International Foreign Language School.

Tutoring Approach:
In my lessons I focus on oral speaking and fluency, using images, games and conversation activities. This can be adapted to each student depending on the level and needs. I am experienced in presentations and public speaking. I can also teach writing skills.
