This coaching-based approach I take has proven highly successful. I approach each student and the sessions with an open mind to learn what I need to be of support.

Combining motivational coaching techniques, I offer a uniquely engaging, personally attuned service. The first lesson typically consists of a complimentary educational assessment (usually 30 minutes) to help identify key areas for improvement . All results can be shared with the parent/guardian. Based on this initial assessment, a 100% individual and tailored programme of learning is created. I'm a qualified science teacher and Head of Science based in London, who currently teaches in a secondary school to students aged 11-18. I teach all sciences (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) to KS3 and GCSE (Edexcel and AQA specification), and teach A-Level Biology (OCR specification). I have worked within education for the past 10 years and really love working with young people to inspire them to achieve the best they can. Ben progressed onto doing a Foundation Degree in Action Photography at Truro College where he specialised in sports Extreme Sports, Natural History, Social Documentary and Events Photography following this he began to prepare for a more commercial direction. Ben still maintained his roots in expressive art during the foundation degree but also developed his technical skills thoroughly, and this has been commented on though out his professional and teaching life.

In 2009, he progressed on to Plymouth University to study for his BA Honours in Photography where he achieved a (2.1) During this course, he spent time intricately studying the history of art and photography, and Ben spent many hours mastering skills in studio large and medium format photography. He concluded the year specialising in colour film, Medium format studio photography and focusing mainly on portraiture, with a project called 'The Paradox of Perfect Beauty'.

This study challenges the ideologies of what is defined as beauty throughout art history, sculpture, and figurative representation. It critically analyses the standardised figures and body shape used in art as well as in modern-day commercial advertising, fashion and other types of portraiture.

Ben worked for 3.5 years at an Apple APR shop in Guildford so has a very in-depth knowledge of Apple technology and software and during this time taught people of all ages to use Apple computer something he still tutors to this day in.

I prefer to teach over a 2-hour basis, and this allows for focused study and practical time of guided activity further to this I will travel for a lesson but ask that travel expenses are paid.
Lastly, due to previous experiences, I ask that 50% of the total job is paid upfront as a non refundable deposits on acceptance of the agreed package. I ask this due to the fact I have to pay the tutoring site based on the agreed amount a fee.

Tutoring Approach:
I use student problem identification approach which means I encourage students to identify and communicate to me what they are experiencing as a problem in their specific topics in their studies and then based either face to face or online, I focus on these specified identified problems. The benefit of this approach is that it encourages the student to study, engage and interact. with me as well as providing me the basis for my own post tutoring assessment to whether my tutorial is making the difference. All my tutorials are highly interactive as I use questions and discussion with the students to make sure that they have understood. There are also min activities at the end of every tutorial as well as homework for students to do in every subject I tutor. My approach to tutoring for exams is to focus specificly on the paper that the student is sitting. The content, how to answer exam questions, memory techniques, revision tips, taking into account all learner styles.


I love Psychology, Health & Social Care and Childcare and Education and really enjoy teaching these subjects so my enthusiasm motivates my students. I typically teach within schools but tutor one to one and also small groups either face to face or electronically. My teaching methodology tends to focus upon the needs of the student/s but would always begin with gaining an understanding of the students current knowledge and any gaps in learning. This ensures they are completely up to date on their understanding of the subject. I work in line with the current specification of what the student is learning and revising for or creating coursework for. I set work for students each session to complete for the following session and give them feedback to ensure they are progressing each time. This is measurable and graded. I also look at tasks they have been set by their school/college and support them with planning so they fully understand the requirements that are needed to gain the best grades they can achieve. I ensure I am available throughout the week with some online support via email and can be contacted via skype also at an additional cost.

Study skills tutoring: I provide this as an agreed package where I am your child's 'exam buddy' for a period of time. This involves me supporting your child through a stressful time in their lives. I help them to plan their time and create revision timetables, plans, resources and so on. I would check in with them on agreed days/ times via skype to see how they are doing with their studies and revision on the lead up to exams and assessments and help to support them through this. I provide this for students working towards any assessments such as 11+, GCSE's A'Levels and any other level 2 or 3 courses. This is a holistic educational support service for a fixed period. My Pug 'Tiggy' often joins in with the skype for younger students which can support them in keeping it fun and interesting and help them to stay on target. I also include anti-stress resources, stress busting techniques, basic mindfulness skills, breaking down stress barriers worksheets, tips and discussions. The study skills/ exam buddy package is charged at a rate dependent upon requirements.

I am originally from Turkey and I came to England to pursue my dream as an SEN specialist. I studied MA Special Educational Needs and Inclusive Education at Manchester Metropolitan University.

Since I finished my masters degree in 2020, I have been tutoring several students with different needs around Manchester. Although I gained confidence and deeper knowledge within my studies, I was definetly missing out of the joy of teaching during my studies :)

In 2014, I got my qualified teacher status as a Primary school teacher within 4 years of Bachelor's degree back in Turkey. The last 2 years of my studies was including teaching experience and I actively worked in several schools during this time as a teaching assistant as well as the main teacher. Prior to that, I had several 1-1 tutees since 2010 as the qualification that I was getting was in high demand! During my BA studies, I tutored more than 20 primary school students on a regular basis.

After I graduated in 2014, I started to work in a primary school for 6 months, then I decided to get trained in Special Needs Education as Special Needs support in Turkey is one-on-one basis. That's something that I realised during my education and work experience- I was enjoying and working the best if I was working 1-1 basis. Thus, I got trained by the Ministry of Education in Turkey as Special Needs Expert.

Between 2015-2018 I worked as a Special Needs Specialist (1-1 support) across several schools. I worked with more than 150 students who have ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, learning disabilities, down syndrome, multiple and profound learning disabilities, visual and hearing impairments. I worked with students from age 2 to 30. In the mean time, I topped up my knowledge studying 2 years foundation degree in Child Development to have more of a professional perspective on early years/Foundation stage.

In 2018, I moved to England to start my MA studies in Special Needs and carried on teaching 1-1 ever since I graduated in 2020.

I worked with several children/teenagers/young adults across Manchester within different settings. I got trained in Applied Behavioural Analysis/ABA and tutored in this area offering behavioural support alongside the academic support I have been offering.

I got regular students in Manchester , offering home schooling, pastoral and behavioural support on a regular basis. I have also offered short term interventions , behavioural/emotional support to students who have different needs during this period.

For a start, I meet the parents to discuss their expectations and their desires for their children. Then, to go further - I would like to meet the students to briefly assess what they need or simply, to see if we get along. It is important to make a proper plan in accordance with the parents' expectations and children's need and suitability.

My motto is - you have to respect the children/young adults if you want them to respect you. Each child have things to teach you if you listen to them carefully.
