I did Spanish Studies as a degree in Huelva (near Seville), and later enrolled in an MA for Spanish Teaching as a Foreign Language in my home town, Granada. I regularly help students prepare for entrance examinations and have 100% rate in this area. The schools I have previously helped pupils gain entry to are: Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School, Bury Grammar School, Manchester High School for girls and Bolton School. I am familiar with the CEM and GL Assessment specifications.

I am fortunate to teach students both in the UK and in many parts of the world. I currently teach students at the British School in Voorschoten (Netherlands) and at the British School in Shunyi (Beiijing) in addition to students based in the UK. Teaching Experience:
I have experience teaching Spanish in different settings, especially in Higher Education in the UK. In the past I have taken different teaching roles at Coventry University or the University of Birmingham. I have also worked as a private tutor, preparing for GCSE and A-Levels Spanish as well as organising 1:1/group courses for adult learners. I have ample experience working with beginner users of the language and working our way up to confident use.

Tutoring Approach:
As a tutor, my approach is to be flexible with student's needs. I have a preference for communicative approaches, using my own materials and real documents, like songs, ads or news articles. In my classes, you will learn by doing, experiencing a first-hand use of the language.

I have experience designing engaging courses with ample range of materials and achievable learning aims. In my classes you will get learning aims per unit and session and every now and then we'll have a chat about what is working and what is failing, how much we have progressed and the way forward.
