Learning a foreign language is a process that implies some mimicking, language awareness, practice on comprehension, expression and also creativity. I prefer teaching language through culture, teaching with project-based learning. The most important duties are those of

Personal Description:
I am 49, married and a proud father of two lovely daughters. I enjoy keeping fit and have recently discovered running and the sense of achievement and pride one can get from it. I am an approachable person who enjoys the company of family and friends. I like to visit new places and try to make the most of what comes my way.

Teaching Experience:
I am a qualified teacher with experience in teaching and preparing students for 11+ / entrance exams in English and Maths. With 20 years teaching experience, I have worked in both state and Independent school settings. I have prepared many children for their examinations in the schools I have taught at and individually through tutoring. All children are successful in attending their chosen school.

I currently enjoy teaching in an independent primary school setting from 4 - 11 year olds and have experience in teaching all subjects to a wide age range.

As well as specialising in preparing children for entrance exams and 11+ I have a masters level qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN). I am genuinely passionate about helping those children with barriers to learning succeed, and to become happy and confident learners.

Tutoring Approach:
I believe fun, enjoyment and confidence are the key elements of learning. It is imperative to teach in a variety of ways and establish the best learning style for each individual pupil exploring Visual, Auditory and Kinaesthetic methods of learning. By 'doing' a learner learns and remembers. My initial training as a teacher has helped me to teach any subject effectively. Helping students overcome barriers to learning and making progress are the things I enjoy the most about teaching. I am genuinely passionate about my subjects and in seeing learners reach their potential. I too enjoy the challenge of mastering new things and embracing the notion that you never ever stop learning.

Native Spanish speaker who has Spanish, French and English teaching experience in Spain and the UK. Has gained a Master's degree in Teaching and a Bachelor's degree in Translation and Interpreting. Obtained a QTS back in 2017 and is currently working as a Modern Foreign Teacher here in England.

Teaching Experience:
As a Spanish, English and French teacher at Logo's Academy, a private language academy in Malaga, I taught children, teenagers and adults from different levels and prepared them for official exams. I also gave private tuition to students ranging from 5 to 62 age, which taught me to adapt my teaching methods to a variety of individual personalities.
In 2017, I followed my ambition to begin a UK teaching career, and since then I have been working here as a Spanish and French Teacher in Secondary school.

Tutoring Approach:
I have endeavoured to make my teaching as enjoyable as possible by using a variety of games, fun drilling and creative strategies. Of most importance, I have aimed to create a safe environment where students feel free to learn from their mistakes.

I have been tutoring on a full-time basis for over 20 years, including teaching abroad as part of my degree at Cambridge University. Over this time, I have taught pupils across the whole range of ages and abilities. I have been Modern Languages teacher for 16 years and I am dedicated to sharing my passion for Spanish, Italian and French with my students. I love tutoring as I can tailor sessions to meet the needs of each learner. I have a had a lot of success in the past with learners of all ages as I have taught from nursery age to adult learners. I am also an SQA marker for Higher and Advanced Higher Spanish and bring all of I have learned from this experience to support my students.
