I have taught languages, including ESOL, to teenagers and adults. I have taught at various centres in Bristol including the local college and other community providers. I am also currently lecturing interpreting techniques for a national provider.

My name is Amandine and I am an experienced certified French and Spanish Teacher with over 10 years experience teaching privately students from different levels.

I have studied French Literature and have completed a Bachelor in Translation at the University of Bordeaux (English/Spanish and French). I have also completed a degree in teaching French as Foreign Language with the Alliance Française.

I am passionate by my language, country and culture and I love to share it with my students during my classes through grammar, conversation, writing, videos, informal classes at the museum etc. I use different supports (books, videos, plays, writing) to make you learn meanwhile enjoying the process.

I make my classes interactive and well structured to help you succeed in your exams. Together before we start the class we decide whether you want to focus on improving your written skills, want to improve your practice or want to mix both. I am 49, married and a proud father of two lovely daughters. I enjoy keeping fit and have recently discovered running and the sense of achievement and pride one can get from it. I am a qualified teacher with experience in teaching and preparing students for 11+ / entrance exams in English and Maths. With 20 years teaching experience, I have worked in both state and Independent school settings. I have prepared many children for their examinations in the schools I have taught at and individually through tutoring. All children are successful in attending their chosen school.

I currently enjoy teaching in an independent primary school setting from 4 - 11 year olds and have experience in teaching all subjects to a wide age range.

As well as specialising in preparing children for entrance exams and 11+ I have a masters level qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN). I am genuinely passionate about helping those children with barriers to learning succeed, and to become happy and confident learners.

Qualified teacher, experienced tutor and seasoned exam marker. I also do speaking exams for private centres each year, covering all the different boards at GCSE and A Level.

Some students come to me for additional help with their school courses and I can work on specific areas and give pointers for improving grades. I also tutor home educated students who want me to help them through the whole syllabus

I usually do a combination of grammar and other skills during a lesson. I find online tutoring is an efficient way to teach. Student and tutor have to be very focused, and we need to have the lesson planned carefully to make sure we have access to documents, so no time is wasted finding materials or deciding what to do. I also set homework if parents want this, and it does help to maximise the lesson time.

Teaching Experience:
After my degree in French and Spanish, and PGCE, I went on to teach in a secondary school. After this I started out as a private tutor, working with students from a range of backgrounds and Amis. I have taught both French and Spanish from lower secondary to A Level, including board era and overseas students.

I know the different syllabuses extremely well fue to the range of students l have.

I have been teaching in secondary education for over 10 years and have a deep understanding of GCSE and A-Level exam boards for Modern Languages, as well as being able to build a rapport with young people.

I love travelling, I enjoy honing my Spanish skills in Mexico, Central America, and South America. I am always up for sharing travel stories! I am also passionate about football, Chelsea are my team (controversial, I know!), and music, I love to discover new artists from around the world.

Having completed my PGCE at the University of Oxford, I worked as Head of Department at a secondary school. I worked with A-level and GCSE students on a daily basis and understand the requirements to achieve top grades in these exams. I have a thorough knowledge of Modern Languages and have a degree in French and Hispanic Studies from the University of Nottingham.

I have taught extensively online using Microsoft Teams, Zoom and on tutoring platforms. I have excellent IT skills and am confident in my ability to impart knowledge in an online classroom.
