Personal Description:
I am a college lecturer (Abingdon & Witney College) with extensive experience teaching both Russian and Art.
I am very happy working with little ones as well as adults and believe that learning should be enjoyable and make my classes varied, challenging and stimulating.

Teaching Experience:
I have gained experience in teaching adults and younger students both in a formal context (I taught in schools and for university degree courses) and less formal (evening and leisure courses). My philosophy over 20 years in teaching, is to produce lessons that excite and inspire. I have an enthusiastic style and my lessons are delivered using a variety of the latest learning techniques.

Since 2012 I have taught Russian at all levels and exam preparation for GCSE and A-level. I prepare students for the A-Level exam through an intense course, certainly that is necessary for an A or A* grade. However, of course, it depends on the knowledge base the student has.
I constantly train and update my learning and am relentless in seeking new and varied materials for reading, listening, and writing language.

This is one student's comment:
"It is with heartfelt thanks that I turn to you to express my appreciation for all the efforts that you have invested in my preparation. Your knowledge, patience and support have been key in helping me achieve my goal of getting an A* in Russian at the A-level exam. With your help, I got into the desired university, which was one of my main dreams. Your lessons, advice, and faith in me helped me overcome all difficulties and pass the exam with excellent marks."

Tutoring Approach:
Tutoring is tailored to suit individual needs and pace, to make learning enjoyable and rewarding. I am a friendly, calm and patient tutor who believes that an open and relaxed atmosphere is essential for successful learning. At the same time, clearly defined goals have to be set, worked towards and reached during each lesson.

I always seek to make my classes challenging and stimulating, drawing upon as wide a range of learning skills and strategies as possible. I promote activities, games and practical exercises focused on student's needs.

As a qualified UK teacher and Edexcel Russian examiner, I offer expert guidance for exams, conversation practice, and personalized lessons. All of my degrees and certifications have been officially translated into English and verified by a solicitor.

In 2011, I obtained **Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)** for England and began teaching Russian in a secondary school in Nottingham. I currently work as an **MFL (Modern Foreign Languages)** and **EAL (English as an Additional Language)** teacher in a British secondary school.

I am very familiar with **Edexcel Russian GCSE and A-Level exams**, and I've successfully prepared students for speaking and writing components in multiple schools across Nottingham and Derby. As a **certified examiner for Edexcel**, I know exactly what examiners are looking for and how to help you succeed.

I'm highly experienced with GCSE and A-Level Russian exam requirements, and I'm proud to say that all of my students have achieved top grades (A or A*)-a reflection of both their hard work and my structured, supportive teaching approach.

One of my most rewarding projects was teaching a complete beginner from zero to C2 level, aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). I specialize in building confidence step-by-step, no matter where you're starting from.

Whether you need help preparing for exams, improving fluency, or learning Russian from scratch, I bring both professional expertise and a personal commitment to helping you reach your goals.

Teaching Experience:
I am passionate about teaching. I hold 9 years of experience in teaching pre-school Russian and English (for children aged 3 to 5), General and Business English and Russian for employees of different companies and Russian as a foreign language online and offline as well as Russian for bilingual children. I can also help with preparing for GCSE and A - levels.

Tutoring Approach:
I use the communicative method. The main focus is on using the language. You start speaking Russian from the very first lesson, even if you`re a beginner.
Russian grammar will be introduced to you in a clear structured format - you will see that there is an understandable logic. You will not be overloaded with grammar tasks and will learn only as much grammar as you need in order to speak and understand Russian.
If you`d like to use a book during the course, together we can choose a book that will best address your needs. At the same time, most lessons are held without the use of a book. The book would mainly be used for reference, providing structure, and homework material.
I like the idea of total immersion because we all really learn by doing, and the more you practise Russian, the more you will learn.
