I am a full-time specialist tutor and experienced teacher with a PhD in English Literature and philosophy. After moving to the UK, one of my first jobs was teaching art classes to pre-schoolers and giving Italian speaking and reading lessons to two children whose parents are bilingual.
In July 2021 I completed the CELTA qualification to teach English as a foreign language and from August 2021 to March 2023 I taught art classes to disadvantaged children in a local Community Centre in South East London.
I am currently teaching English for Everyday and ESOL in an Adult College.

As a fully qualified, successful English teacher of twenty years, I have a plethora of experience to draw from to enable my pupils to reach their full potential. I am a dedicated, hard-working tutor who has tutored many pupils, all with great success.

I have a BA in English Literature from Lancaster University and an MA in Gothic Literature from Manchester Metropolitan University. I currently work at a well-respected school in the area and have done since I left university. I have been teaching English for over twenty years. I am willing to teach both Literature and Language, from KS2 up to and including A level. I also offer grammar school entrance examination coaching for all schools, other than my own. I can also help support non English natives with their oral and written skills. As well as being a full-time private tutor for nearly 15 years, I have a background in comedy, writing and performance. I've published three humour books and continue to write for theatre companies and private events. I also love art and illustration, and try incorporate this into my teaching where possible - for all ages! I currently live in South-West London with my husband and two young children.

I have been a Manager and English Lecturer in Adult Education for over 20 years, and taught English Language, Literature and Drama in secondary schools before that. I have full Qualified Teacher Status, certified by the Department for Education (UK).

Qualifications: BA (Hons) English Literature from the University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne; Post-Graduate Certificate in Education (Teaching Qualification) from the University of Durham.

I am also a freelance writer and have had comedy material produced on BBC Television & Radio.

I have been a teacher for over 30 years, helping thousands of learners throughout my career, in both secondary schools and in the Coventry Adult Education Service. Most recently, I have been providing Private Tuition online and in clients' homes.
