I have worked with Oxford Tutors since October 2019, until the pandemic took its stride. I tutored briefly while studying in London for my undergraduate studies (Imperial College London). I tutored math and chinese (mandarin) to younger students during my last two years of high school in Singapore.

During class, I typically first unravel important concepts to ensure the student grasps the topic well, avoiding rote memorisation, before assessments are provided. I provide a Traded Service to support schools in Wirral to meet the needs of pupils with English as an additional language (EAL) and ethnic minority pupils. My role is to facilitate good home/school communication for refugee and asylum- seeking families with aim of ensuring that each pupil achieves their full potential. I support pupils' settling into school and development of English sometimes via translations of instructions and curriculum language. I also provide support for families prior to and during admission of children with EAL to school/setting. Encourage and promote home-school/setting-community links for example: supporting schools in developing initiatives to meet the needs of EAL parents by providing information about ESOL classes and weekend community language classes. Successfully participated as an Assistant Moderator (Postal), to moderate the work from approximately 20 centres with candidates taking the examination in 0544/03 Foreign Language Arabic Speaking (c/w) for the June 2018 & 2019 sessions. In addition, I have also worked as an Assistant Examiner to mark the work of approximately 400 candidates taking the examination in 0508/01 First Language Arabic Reading (scoris) for the June 2018&2019 sessions, where the marking was done via RM processor.
