I am currently a lecturer on the BSc Psychology and Language science degree at University College London and a psychology examiner for AQA. Prior to this, I was Head of Psychology at a secondary school where I taught the AQA A-level psychology specification. I also introduced and taught Sociology A-level. When I was in the 6th form (in 2009), I also volunteered as a classroom assistant in my school. I was working with students who were having difficulty with essay-based subjects like History and English. I worked with two students in their History classes, helping them to understand the work they were set in class and working through it with them. I had to use my knowledge of French to help one student who had not yet learnt to speak fluent English, translating the teacher's instructions for her and helping her with words she did not understand. Between 2009-10, I helped to run two after-school classes for Key Stage 2 pupils, one in Literacy and Art and another in Drama. This involved planning and delivering lessons to classes of about 5-10 children, and keeping them engaged with the topics they were learning through activities designed to both teach and entertain.

Tutoring Approach:
My experience of tutoring has shown me the importance of patience and respect in teaching. Especially in essay-based subjects, it is crucial that a teacher allows their pupils space to develop their own ideas, and respects their independent thought. Learning by rote has only limited usefulness: the best way to excel at a subject is to understand it, so I always explain concepts as fully as possible and move at the tutee's pace, making sure that they have properly grasped each concept or issue before moving on to the next. My Schools Plus training emphasised the idea that the goal of tutoring is to help a student to help themselves, enabling them to tackle problems rather than solving things for them. I think that this is fantastic advice, and it is a rule which I always try to bear in mind when tutoring.

I started working as a tutor in London and Surrey in 2013/2014, mainly for students who had been excluded from school. In 2015 I relocated and began tutoring private clients in East Anglia. In 2016 I started offering online tuition, first using Skype, and now with Zoom. I provide this for students working towards any assessments such as 11+, GCSE's A'Levels and any other level 2 or 3 courses. This is a holistic educational support service for a fixed period. My Pug 'Tiggy' often joins in with the skype for younger students which can support them in keeping it fun and interesting and help them to stay on target. Tutoring Approach:
I am a dedicated tutor with a number of different and exciting approaches in learning, which will help my students learn faster and better. My purpose is to make everyone feel confident with the language knowledge they already have (or even beginners) and boost their confidence and skills with my techniques and positive energy.

I am a Senior Psychology Lecturer at a distance-learning university, specialising in neuroscience and cyberpsychology, and eating disorders. I am passionate about supporting students to pursue psychology.

Teaching Experience:
My background includes a BSc in Psychology (first class with honours), and MSc in Health Psychology (with Distinction). Prior to my role as a Lecturer, I worked as a private tutor for three years for A-level students and undergraduates. As a Senior Lecturer I teach on both MSc and BSc Psychology programmes and supervise a variety of dissertation projects that are both qualitative and quantitative in nature. I have over 9 years teaching experience.

Tutoring Approach:
I believe that Psychology is a genuinely fun and interesting subject and so I am keen not to spoil the magic - I draw upon many real-life case studies and examples that have helped me to engage with and learn the materials in my own experience studying. I know that studying is challenging, so I draw upon my experience of tutoring and lecturing many different types of learners, confident that I can help support you, irrespective of your ability, background, and time constraints. Teaching Experience:
I have relevant experience applicable to teaching. I have over 7 years experience working with complex children aged 15-18, facilitating psychological interventions on a 121 and group basis. I previously worked with adults, providing group interventions as well as worked with young people in the Princes Trust. I deliver training to adults on a regular basis.

I take a client-centred approach and have been trained in Motivational Interviewing. I have passed my qualification component related to training others: the skills I have developed both in facilitating and training are applicable to 121 tutoring. I have also developed a national training on Behaviour Management of children, therefore have experience and in depth knowledge of child development as well as trauma and attachments.

I take a client-centred approach, exploring preferred learning styles and can use Motivational Interviewing to collaborate, elicit and provide autonomy to students.

I am a qualified secondary science teacher who specialises in Biology. I currently work at Buxton and Leek College as Lead Lecturer for T-Level Health and BTEC Health and Social Care. I have a degree in Biology, experience working within the NHS and I am currently tutoring to students in the evenings, alongside my full time FE teaching role.
I am a very relaxed teacher, who likes to get to know my students so I can tailor a personalised approach to my lessons.
I am a huge Harry Potter fan, love books, movies and board games.

I am a PGCE trained science teacher and I have spent 1 year teaching in a secondary school where I was able to teach all science subjects to GCSE students. I ran an after school science club to a group of students who were wanting additional support. I have spent the past 1.5 years lecturing at Buxton College to T-Level and BTEC students, teaching both Biology and Chemistry to level 3 and 4 students plus healthcare units.
