I usually start with the current topics that student is studying in the school and explain to the student that topic and related background knowledge. Ben has taught my son for Eleven plus since September and I can see my kid doing his daily homework himself without expecting our help. We can see the way of reading has changed and now he looks for new words and try to find the meaning.

Most importantly, Ben develops the wrap over the kid and takes control of reading and writing completely, leaving us in the back seat to see he completes the daily homework. This is great, as we don`t want to study class 4,5 again or teach a different method than thought in school.

I have enjoyed supporting students with entrance exams to secondary schools, passing their GCSE and also retaking their Maths GCSE with success in all. I am also able to support students with SEN needs and aim to personalise learning for all so that it is accessible and achievable.

Working with children and young adults for several summers through the National Citizen Service has helped me improve my ability to challenge, motivate and help students progress, helping them reach their goals.

Prior to entering the education sector and working with children, I worked within large corporations in London and have several years of leadership experience through volunteering within the charity sector leading teams that have cumulatively raised half a million pounds.

Tutoring Approach:
I provide individual and group sessions for KS2 - KS5 students. First sessions revolve around testing the student to build up a picture of their strengths and areas of improvement. A plan will be made to help secure the knowledge they have and build up on the things they don't know. For exam candidates, lessons will focus on strengthening key skills and understanding how to approach exam style questions.

For students wishing to pass an entrance exam, I am able to support with Maths and Non - Verbal reasoning for either CEM or GL tests. Starting from September I will be offering weekly group sessions for GCSE and 11+. If you would like to join the classes, message me as places are limited.
