I am an independent tutor with a strong scientific background and have lived in England since Aug 1965. Most of my school and college education took place in Dudley (West Midlands) and I studied Biochemistry, at Leeds University (1975-8). I am married and have lived in Cheshire since Dec 1978. We have a son and a daughter; both graduated from Universities in Manchester. Following my voluntary redundancy from AstraZeneca, (Jun 2008), I am now a self-employed Tutor / Consultant. During my long service in the Pharma industry (~30 years), I have run many short courses and workshops. At Tuteria, I developed Mathematics questions and worked solutions for 11+, IGCSE and SAT, and taught GRE Quantitative Reasoning.

Tutoring Approach:
My approach is patient, supportive and focused on understanding rather than memorisation. I first identify the areas where a student needs support and adapt each lesson to their individual needs and learning style.

I break difficult topics into manageable steps, using clear explanations, worked examples and practice questions. I encourage students to explain their reasoning so I can identify and address gaps in their understanding.

For examination preparation, I use exam-style questions, worked solutions and problem-solving techniques to help students become more confident and effective in tackling unfamiliar questions.

My goal is to help students understand the subject, build confidence and become independent learners.
