Hi, I'm Aysha, and I'm a dedicated and enthusiastic tutor who loves supporting students and helping them succeed in their studies. I have a strong academic background, having completed my studies in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, and Chemistry. My predicted grades are A* in Mathematics, A* in Further Mathematics, and A in Chemistry.I enjoy helping students overcome challenging topics and believe that every student can succeed with the right guidance and encouragement. Having only recently studied these subjects myself, I have a strong understanding of the current GCSE and A-Level specifications, exam techniques, and the areas that students often find most challenging. This allows me to explain concepts in a way that is clear, relatable, and tailored to the latest curriculum.

Teaching Experience:
I am a dedicated and enthusiastic tutor with one year of experience working at Fine Tutors, where I worked with students of different ages and abilities, helping them build confidence and improve their academic performance. I also have experience providing private one-to-one A-Level Chemistry tuition, allowing me to tailor lessons to each student's individual learning style and pace.

Having worked with students of varying abilities, I understand that every learner is different. I adapt my teaching methods to suit each student's needs, whether that involves breaking down complex topics into simpler steps, providing additional practice, or challenging higher-achieving students with more advanced questions. Personal Description:
I am a scientist and engineer who has always been curious about how and why things work - from small scale to astronomical - and I really enjoy being able to draw upon that experience to help students to understand maths and science concepts in ways that they can apply in their own studies and help with exam questions. I have been using maths and science throughout my career and I hope to help and inspire students by drawing upon both my academic knowledge of maths and physics and my wider work experience to help them understand the relevance of the topics they are studying by applying topics to some real-world applications.

I qualified with a bachelor's and master's degree in physics from Oxford University and an engineering doctorate (which was largely mathematics-based) from the University of Birmingham.

For most of school, university and career to date, my interest in how things work has guided my life. I have been applying maths, science, engineering and technology to real world applications, problems and challenges through conducting research and development and managing and coaching R&D teams, becoming a Chartered Physicist in the process. I also gained a Master of Business Administration from London Business School, on which I enrolled to help me understand - and now share with students - how industry operates and how science and technology are used commercially.

Teaching Experience:
I particularly enjoy finding ways to explain methods and concepts that people may be struggling with, and have experience of doing this with students and with colleagues at work. I tutored up to A level during my early years as a scientist, only stopping as the demands of family life increased. With more personal time available, I returned to tutoring to try to share some of my knowledge and experience with students and I quickly gained really positive feedback from foundation level, through GCSEs to A levels.

I have reviewed many job applications, from graduate entry to senior scientists and engineers so may be able to help with students' potential applications.

Tutoring Approach:
With new students, I start by identifying the goals for the sessions, focussing initially on topics of concern to students and parents, to determine whether there are any immediate challenges and to help build their confidence. We will then outline a plan for the tutoring sessions, tailored to individual needs. In most cases, this will align with the topics being taught at the time on their course to reinforce their grasp and understanding of those topics.

I offer support with maths and physics to GCSE and A level, including further maths A level.

I also hope to be able to help students grasp concepts through providing real-life examples of the relevance of maths & science in industry and government as well as to their careers.

Personal Description:
I have always been someone that likes to help people, and this is the major motivator when it comes to teaching. The 1 to 1 dynamic of tutoring provides a great opportunity for real connection with the student, which then facilitates much better progress through mutual understanding and communication. I`ve found the more casual approach you get from teaching one student in their own home gives them so much more confidence and security than they have at school which makes it so much easier to understand their problems and work through things together.

Teaching Experience:
I have experience teaching Maths and Science in several schools in Derbyshire and south Yorkshire, and have been tutoring privately for the last two years. I attained a BSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Nottingham and A*A*AA is Maths, Chemistry, Biology and Further Maths at A-level.

I have a broad range of experience tutoring in different settings and scenarios: online and in-person, KS3, GCSE and A-Level, Foundation and Higher Tiers, relaxed weekly or Bi-weekly sessions, intensive exam prep and even teaching in a home-school environment.

Tutoring Approach:
I opt for a more relaxed approach as I find student comfortability to be the most important factor for learning. Sessions are very interactive with the idea of helping the student understand where they are going wrong and what gaps they have. I am very analytical behind the scenes, building a bespoke portfolio that will inform the direction of future sessions.

I think students find the casual conversational learning to be a breath of fresh air. Many feel cramped and uncomfortable in a classroom so being able to just discuss things freely with no fear of judgement is a huge help. In my experience students always undersell themselves, so I make a point out of showing them how much they already know, which helps them feel more confident from the offset
