I have a first class BSc (Hons) degree in Mathematics and its Applications from the University of Sussex. Maths is one of the hardest subjects to bluff your way through, and although it's possible to scrape by with a passing acquaintance of the concepts involved, you will never do particularly well without a deeper understanding of the subject. However, this shouldn't be taken as a cause for despair - far from it! I have a BEng (Hons) Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Oxford Brookes University and have A-levels in Mathematics, Physics and Physical Education. I prefer classes to be carried out in small groups, or ideally, one to one.

After having tutored many of my friends and family in the younger years, I realised that I have a passion for teaching as I can make even the most mediocre thing interesting and understandable. I am open to teaching online virtually, so you don't even have to travel anywhere- all at a reasonable price! Each lesson will be approximately an hour long, whenever at your convenience as long as I can find time on my schedule as well to teach.

I have previously had experience teaching younger children including cousins, family friends, younger students at my school, other tutoring companies.

Personal Description:
Hi I'm Elise! A second year environmental science student at Lancaster University. I have a wide range of science knowledge and am excited to begin sharing and supporting GCSE aged pupils grow in their knowledge and interest of the sciences as well! Outside of tutoring, I spend lots of my time playing the flute, reading, and hiking! I'm looking forward to beginning this tutoring journey in a fun, creative and beneficial way .

Teaching Experience:
I have experience tutoring one to one close friends and family but I believe I am suited to further tutoring since I already have quite a lot of experience in supporting and facilitating young people in scouting since I am an experienced scout leader in the Winchester district. I also would say I have a recent and relevant understanding of the GCSE syllabus and examinations, especially in the sciences since I am currently taking a Bsc Environmental Science degree and my passion for science has only grown since I took my GCSE's.

Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tutoring will be adapted specially to each student, depending on how they prefer to be taught but also recognizing weaknesses in the syllabus and working on those until overall confidence is build. I hope to teach in a creative, interactive way that will not only build confidence in the syllabus but also in exam technique and exam nerves too, especially for GSCE students. I am happy to teach all exam boards of combined Science GSCE and the sciences separately too.
