I am a full time A Level Physics and Mathematics teacher at a Tertiary College. We have about 50 students in each of years 12 and 13. 26 of our Physics students gained grade As at AS Level in 2006. 48% A and A* at A2 Level in June 2011. This is twice the Welsh average which puts us at the top of tree. 67% A*,A or B in 2012 in my class.Three of my students have won the Institute of Physics prize for the highest A Level marks in Wales with several gaining 600/600. - In spring 2019 I attended a 3 month international advanced training course on the Lecoq pedagogy of movement theatre led by master Giovanni Fusetti in Padua, Italy, which incredibly deepened and refined my understanding of the student/teacher relation and enormously widened the ways I can adapt and carry out a class according to the personality and the needs/goals of the students. 430h of training.

- Since I moved to London I have taught Italian to many people, students, casual learners, people seeking accents reductions....from an English couple who have travelled to Italy many times, are really fond of the culture but have never got down to learning the language, to a Japanese woman who lives in the City and has working relationships with Italy. - In 2008 I worked as a teaching assistant in a kindergarten in Reykjavk for 8 months. This kindergarten had a special program of integration between kids with special needs (especially hearing impaired ones) and kids with no special requirements, which showed to be very successful. Besides assisting the teachers in taking care of the children daily, I was responsible of having a short weekly session to introduce children to English as a foreign language through playing and singing, which turned out to be very appreciated and great fun.

I was awarded my PGCE in Secondary Science in 1997 with Qualified Teacher Status from Sussex University. Since then I have taught in various schools in Sussex, Essex and Bristol. I have experience with all ages and abilities at key stage 2,3 and 4.

In addition, I spent several years teaching English, History, Drama, Art+Design, Citizenship, ICT as well as Science and Maths to my tutor group as part of a year 7 Team and would be happy to help younger children generally with anything educational.

I have also taught A Level Biology both as a private tutor and at a higher education college.

I have been an examiner for AQA Biology.

Tutoring Approach:
During our lesson I would utilise a variety of different teaching tools to aid recall and stimulate brain cells: starter activities, subject games, exam questions, scientific writing, calculator practice, sequencing and comprehension activities. I will utilise the textbooks and revision guides that the student prefers.

Generally I would use examples, graphs, charts, tables, data and diagrams to encourage deeper thinking and improve skills and vocabulary. I would check that your child is familiar with the syllabus and requirements of their exam board.
