I have been teaching for 12 years in a variety of educational settings in Further Education, Adult Education and working in Primary schools delivering courses to children and parents. I am 35 years old and I have most recently completed the LPC at the University of Law. I have already completed a GDL (Graduate Diploma in Law) at the same university. I also have an undergraduate 2.1 with Honors degree in French and Italian at The University of Manchester. I have spent 6 months in Bologna in Italy, working in a private language school for those wished to learn either Italian or English. In the first lesson, I would give the pupils an assessment, which allows me to identify their gaps in the curriculum. I would then focus on filling the gaps in future tuition sessions. In the beginning of each lesson, pupils are tested on prior knowledge to ensure they can recall the information.

I break down a topic or question into smaller parts, and ensure pupils can then confidently apply the skill they have learnt to future questions. I use a variety of resources and teaching methods, making learning accessible for all.

My techniques involve exposing students to exam style questions throughout the tutoring experience to ensure they can apply the knowledge they have learnt. Other methods I use are spot the mistake, underlining key parts of a question, and linking topics to prior information.

I can set homework at the end of each session if the pupil wishes me to do so. Parents/carers are given feedback at the end of each session to ensure they are kept up to date.
