I am a graduate in Physics with Astrophysics, which was a four year degree, which included me living and learning in Italy. My degree was challenging yet enjoyable, and contained a lot of Maths, which to me was great! As a born communicator writing and teaching have always appealed, and having spent the last decade tutoring and working for the Institute of Physics, I can definitely say I enjoy it as much now as I did when I started.. I also have a qualification in teaching English as a foreign language.

For the last 12 years I have taught a wide variety of learners from the age of 6 all the way up to 45! I'm a qualified science teacher and Head of Science based in London, who currently teaches in a secondary school to students aged 11-18. I have been a teacher for many years having received my PGCE in 1992. Since that time I have worked in a variety of schools in the state and private sectors both in London and Oxfordshire. Teaching physics is a great privilege and pleasure having taught A Level physics for both OCR and Edexcel boards as well as GCSE and iGCSE physics and chemistry. If the answer is no, then we would follow a more general pattern of study. I have worked mainly in year 6 preparing children to pass their SATs and also I have tutored children to pass their 11+ exams. Being a year 6 teacher for such a long time has made me extremely confident in helping children to revise and succeed in their assessments.

I have worked closely with children who have additional needs throughout my career and I have attended lots of training in the past to support this. During the school day I tutor a large number of children who are not in education (for various reasons) and have lots of experience in helping these children.

I will adapt learning to the individual need of your child/children. Making it as interactive and fun as possible.

Although I am trained in Primary I am happy to work with secondary children who need additional support too.

Tutoring Approach:
I like to try tailor the sessions to meet the needs of the individual. I love doing this because it is something that all children need but as a classroom teacher of 30 is not always possible.

If your child needs active learning, if they need lots of repetition to make the learning stick then I can do that. I will try to make the learning as fun as possible and I will also provide home tasks (optional) to support your child's learning in between sessions.

I'm an experienced maths tutor studying Mathematics at the University of Bath. I am passionate about maths and I'm looking to help students understand and appreciate the topic. I want to provide engaging and interactive sessions, encouraging my students to ask questions and motivate them to keep working hard. I achieved A* in both Mathematics and Further Mathematics at A-Level, as well as achieving multiple gold awards in UKMT's maths challenges. My lessons are for primary and secondary school students and my aim is to help provide a solid foundation, and prepare for exams, including the GCSE exams.

Teaching Experience:
I have tutored a range of students at GCSE and A-Level for over a year, who made notable academic progress. I've also helped them to be more assured in their mathematical abilities, and believe in their own mathematical abilities. Most of my sessions were face to face, however I also have experience doing online tutoring.

Tutoring Approach:
My tailored sessions target students' individual needs and generally consist of enhancing student understanding by simplifying concepts and then developing student confidence through lots of practice questions. Typical lessons last one hour, but this can be adjusted for different needs. I generally allow to student to begin practice questions by themselves, so that I can identify gaps or misunderstandings. If I spot any issues, I will explain these misunderstandings and we then reinforce the students' understanding through a lot more practice! My sessions are very interactive and I encourage my students to work as hard as possible.
