I am a graduate from the University of Sunderland - BSc hons Information Technology and Education - 2:1. I have been teaching for twenty successful years. I'm Head of Mathematics teaching GCSE Mathematics and GCSE ICT at a school in Northumberland. I have excellent experience teaching GCSE Maths, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher and Access. I graduated from the University of Nottingham in June 2012 with a degree in mathematics, with honours. I also attained A, A and B in my maths, further maths and physics A Levels, respectively.

I haven't worked as a tutor before, I've often helped my friends understand some things and I realized it felt nice to teach someone somethings, to pass my knowledge to other people. Since I don't have formal teaching experience, my approach focuses on building strong fundamentals first. For example, if I'm teaching Math's to a Year 1 student, I start with the basics addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. I make sure the student understands the concept behind each problem, because once they understand it, they're already halfway to solving it. After that, I encourage them to try solving questions in their own way. If they make mistakes, I guide them patiently until they understand the correct method.
