I'm a qualified science teacher and Head of Science based in London, who currently teaches in a secondary school to students aged 11-18. I teach all sciences (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) to KS3 and GCSE (Edexcel and AQA specification), and teach A-Level Biology (OCR specification). I am an aerospace engineer by qualification with a Bachelor's and Masters degree from the University of Leeds in Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering. I joined the automotive industry in 2015 and have since worked in engineering. Being an engineer and coming from a family of engineers, Maths is naturally my favourite subject and my strength. The tutor is the expert in subject knowledge and learning but it is the tutee who has the paramount role in their own education and excelling in their subjects. I firmly believe that the role of a tutor is that of a catalyst and the child's role in their own learning is of greater importance. I aim to guide the tutee to learn in a structured manner that so that the child does not waste their time jumping from topic to topic, randomly browsing a bit here and a bit there, as often happens. I will work to improve the child's self esteem, self belief and confidence in their ability to do well. As a trained hypnotherapist I am particularly qualified to boost a child's self-esteem. Once the tutee is confident in their subject knowledge, then we will work on exam techniques and exam practice in order to enable the tutee to ace the exams and significantly improve their grades.

I will work with each tutee on an individual basis and adjust the tuition lessons to their needs. There is no standard one size fits all model with me. Homework will be set to enable the subject matter to be reinforced with some self-learning at home. Exam practice will be key to enable the tutee to become proficient in their exams and achieve the highest grades. Exam technique contributes significantly towards exam success. We will always work to enable the tutee to AIM HIGHER.

I am also able to guide sixth formers with their UCAS applications and personal statements.

At all times parents will be involved with the learning of their child so that they may guide and support their child's education and monitor progress. Parental involvement is also a major factor in the child's success.

For the science lessons my aim is to include as much practical work as is possible, where this is feasible in a tuition setting, keeping safety of the child of paramount importance.

If your child is quiet and shy or is in a mediocre class or is just coasting along or is struggling to achieve the grades required to get into the University course of their choice, whether it is Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacology, Engineering, Computing, Optometry or other science course, then tuition with myself will enable them to boost their grades and give them the advantage that they need. Honest school teachers will tell you that it is the noisy and disruptive pupils that get their attention, whereas the quite shy hardworking pupils tend to get neglected. Busy school teachers just do not have the time or energy to devote to helping their quieter or weaker pupils and it is these pupils that especially benefit from extra personal tuition. On the other hand a brighter pupil may be so far ahead of his or her peers that the teacher is just not able to give them the attention they need. It is never too early to start boosting a child's education. For primary school children it is important that they get a good start to their education and do not lag behind. Tutoring Approach:
I am an approachable, caring and understanding individual with the keen interest of helping people to achieve. I have an excellent ability to break down difficult topics to make them easier to understand. I am an honest and hardworking person who takes great delight in seeing pupils make progress.

My main interest is in creating an enjoyable and comfortable working environment that draws up from the students personality and employs a variety of different learning type activities and lateral thinking exercises to obtain not only improved subject results but a greater awareness and confidence within their subject matter.

My tuition sessions are bespoke and are structured around the needs of the student. Throughout my teaching I place an emphasis on understanding why particular methods are used and how topics link together. I also ensure students are exposed to a wide variety of questions styles from across exam boards to develop their ability to apply these skills to unfamiliar styles of question. Above all, I aim to raise the confidence and expectations of my students and to see them enjoy learning.

During the first introductory session I will make an assessment of your ability and discuss what you wish to achieve e.g. a certain grade/better understanding of a particular area, or develop exam technique. I will then use this information to create an individual learning plan and tailor my tuition accordingly as we work together to help you achieve your goal.

Personal Description:
I am a passionate and hard working primary school teacher. I have been tutoring children of a range of ages and abilities for seven years. Examples include Year 4 English, Year 1 Phonics and English, Year 2 Maths, Year 6 Maths and English. I often tutor children in preparation for the 11 Plus exams and I currently have a 100% pass rate. I will adapt my teaching to meet your child's needs and I always strive to build up a child's confidence. I am patient, caring and enjoy helping children to learn, develop and achieve their goals.

Teaching Experience:
I have eight years teaching experience in primary schools and I have taught across the year groups from Reception to Year 6. I plan my lessons using objectives from the National Curriculum. I use visuals and hooks to engage children in the lesson. I then adapt the learning activity according to children's ability and needs. I ensure children have the opportunity to use their new knowledge and skills through challenge activities, where they will need to find a solution or answer to a challenging question independently. This builds children's confidence and problem-solving skills.

Tutoring Approach:
I will assess your child's needs and abilities in the first tutoring session. Going forward, I will use a range of teaching styles to support your child, including interactive lessons, focus activities, questioning and visual resources.

When I am tutoring a child for the 11 Plus, I will also use past test papers, which I will bring with me. I will also focus on areas that your child finds difficult and support him/her to complete activities in these areas.

Hello! I am a teacher of Design and Technology- main area is Product Design/ Graphic Technology but I also deliver Resistant Materials and Engineering. I have good (with outstanding features) teaching skills and subject knowledge. I have worked in the education sector for 10 years and have been teaching in schools since 2013.I have an in-depth understanding of my subject specifications and have a history of achieving good results.

Teaching Experience:
Prior to teaching I studied Graphic communication and then Graphic Design and Illustration at university. My journey into education started as a behavior and academic mentor helping those with barriers to their learning. I later developed my passion and skill to become a qualified teacher of Design and Technology at secondary level.

I have also taught KS3 Math (lower ability groups), GCSE Media studies and GCSE Engineering.

I have also worked with Engineering Development Trust and directed many students to apprenticeships post school education. I have strong knowledge and understanding of the forth industrial revolution and skill sets that will benefit the next generation in the working world that they will enter.

I currently work as a Design and Technology Teacher, specialising in Technical drawing. I am very familiar with AQA, Edexcel and OCR syllabuses. I also mark GCSE coursework and exams for the AQA exam board.

Tutoring Approach:
Learning is a personal journey. I am strong at scaffolding and differentiation of work. I like to work with students who want to build on their knowledge through a style which works best for them. Sometimes I could do mock papers, sometimes it could be activity based learning, other times it could be going over and improving what has been done at work (for example, coursework improvements).

I am currently about to enter the 3rd year of my MPhys course at Durham University.
I have a passion for my degree and I think that the joy of physical science problem solving is one that can be easily lost in a school environment. With a more tailored approach to teaching, I hope to be able to give students a better understanding of how the tools that they learn work, which enables them to approach exams and further levels with more confidence, whilst also making the subject more enjoyable.

Teaching Experience:
I have experience tutoring for GCSE as an academic mentor at school with both maths and physics. I have also helped lower-level undergraduates with topics of concern.
Although I don't have lots of formal teaching experience, I love to help people understand new topics and have abundant energy to inspire students.

Tutoring Approach:
I believe that the subjects that I am looking to tutor are genuinely enjoyable if they are presented in the proper way and students are able to explore where their curiosity takes them. Which provides enjoyment and a great sense of achievement
For older students, however, I do not want to undermine the importance of being properly prepared for public examinations. The beauty of maths and physics is that the amount of rote learning is much less than other subjects and practice problem solving and understanding concepts is the key to success, this provides much more engaging revision. Although if you are struggling with teaching yourself a new topic or just didn't find that you 'got it' in class, it can be incredibly demoralising. This is where a second explanation or some targeted understanding can help out. moreover, with regular meetings, we can increase the efficiency of your study and I can teach you some tips on self-assessment and identifying in what manner you can help yourself, which is a vital skill the higher up the educational ladder you climb.

For younger students, my approach is to build a strong foundation of the basic skills whilst exploring more intricate concepts in a guided but ambitious manner. I believe that many students are capable of going far beyond the scope of their syllabuses, with the right guidance and encouragement.

I have over 20 years' experience in education, coaching, and tutoring, having worked across UK secondary schools (including Maths and PE), international schools, primary education, teacher training, and adult learning. I've also held senior leadership and professional development roles, including mentoring and training teachers and tutors.
My teaching goes beyond procedures and memorisation. I specialise in helping students understand the underlying structure of Maths, develop intuition, and build calm, flexible thinking - particularly those who feel anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck despite trying hard. Many of the students I work with describe themselves as "not good at Maths"; my role is to help change that story through clarity and understanding rather than pressure.

I was born in Glasgow, and attended The Glasgow Academy. I have travelled to over 50 countries, and explored new cultures and languages. I have a degree in Chemical engineering, holding a PGCE in secondary Maths. I played cricket for 2 years with Scotland.

Teaching Experience:
I explore critical thinking with my students, and encourage them to be logical and systematic in their approach to answering questions. I am also an experienced GCSE external examiner. I have worked in Africa and the Gulf countries for 10 years, teaching the equivalent to GCSE mathematics.

Tutoring Approach:
I like students to take the lead and set their own targets. My job would be to guide and modify any planning laid out. Furthermore, I will integrate English into solving higher level context based questions pertaining to real life situations. Master the basic skills with practice and slowly develop the art of solving problems. This will allow students to use the same method to all subjects.
