I am an independent tutor with a strong scientific background and have lived in England since Aug 1965. Most of my school and college education took place in Dudley (West Midlands) and I studied Biochemistry, at Leeds University (1975-8). I am married and have lived in Cheshire since Dec 1978. We have a son and a daughter; both graduated from Universities in Manchester. Following my voluntary redundancy from AstraZeneca, (Jun 2008), I am now a self-employed Tutor / Consultant. In addition, I am able to speak additional languages (Punjabi; studied up to GCE A-level and Hindi) and prepared to travel up to 5 miles. Teaching Experience:
During my long service in the Pharma industry (~30 years), I have run many short courses and workshops. During 2005/6, I mentored a pupil (Year 10/11) at St. Peter's High School, Longsight, organised by the University of Manchester. I usually start with the current topics that student is studying in the school and explain to the student that topic and related background knowledge. As I teach one to one, my pace is faster than school and we usually finish the topic in one or sometimes two classes. And then we do previous topics and I explain doubts on those topics. I currently teach secondary Maths in South Wales, covering all levels up to and including A level. I have delivered the full A level Mathematics syllabus and have a strong track record of guiding students through both the content and the exam demands with clarity and confidence.

At GCSE level, my results have consistently been excellent. I have successfully supported high-achieving pupils in securing A* grades, as well as helping C/D borderline students gain the crucial C grade they need. My approach focuses on building understanding, developing effective exam techniques, and creating a positive, supportive learning environment.

My approach to tutoring centres on building confidence. Every pupil is different, so I tailor my teaching to each individual's needs and to where they are on their learning journey.

We begin by strengthening procedural knowledge, making sure the foundations are secure. From there, we move on to reasoning and problem-solving questions, allowing students to apply what they've learned in more complex and meaningful ways.
