Personal Description:
I am a qualified teacher and former Headteacher of a successful school with significant teaching expertise at KS1 and KS2. I am also a qualified SENCO and have vast experience in SEN. I set high standards for all my pupils and help them to achieve academic success. I am able to offer tuition in English, Maths and Science at both key stages and tuition for 11+ and common entrance examinations. I travel to you by negotiation. I can provide excellent references on request from past and present clients who have achieved and continue to achieve success in their studies at all levels. I enjoy seeing my pupils make rapid progress and achieving a high level of academic success.

Teaching Experience:

I specialise in English, Maths, SEN, Entrance Examinations at 7+ and 11+ and tuition for pupils who need to catch up, lack confidence and skills and need support to improve. I have vast experience teaching within excellent local schools and I am currently a Headteacher in a large local primary school. I teach children on a 1-2-1 basis to ensure that they receive the additional input that they need in order to achieve. I specialise in assisting children who lack confidence in specific areas and I am able to assist these children in improving their skill levels within their own school. I can provide excellent references on request from many happy pupils and parents.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a patient and understanding tutor with the ability to communicate effectively with both adults and children. My aim is to ensure that pupils develop additional skills and increased confidence in their studies. I make my lessons fun and enjoyable for pupils so that they are able to enjoy learning and are keen to attend my tutoring sessions. I keep parents updated on their children's progress on a regular basis and encourage children to share worries about specific subject areas so that we can explore them together.

I am full time engineer working in Victoria, after achieving a degree in Civil Engineering in Imperial College, London. At 8, I studied at DCPS, then moving to St Pauls at 13+ (common entrance). Coming from this background, I understand the pressures of succeeding at all levels.

Last year, I managed to help 2 of my students achieve A grades for Maths A-level, a child achieving a B in Chemistry A-Level, 2 children achieving A* in Science GSCE and a group of 4 girls getting into their preferred school at 11+, amongst others.

Tutoring Approach:

I will ensure that your child willl have full knowledge of the entire syllabus, providing him/her with many examples, so their confidence would be boosted. Topics shall be explained with clarity and patience so that your child will feel at ease with his/her learning experience.

Having taught many children of differing standards, I will adapt my tutoring so that your child will benefit greatly, by improving on his/her weaknesses and pushing forwards his/her strengths.

Personal Description:
Online and in person tuition available!

A little bit about me: I have my own tutoring business which I am currently running during my maternity leave. I am a University of Surrey MSci Biochemistry (Master of Science) graduate. Have completed half of my PGCE in secondary science teaching and currently on maternity leave. I have 10 years experience in teaching having taught over 100 students in the last 4 years. I am young and energetic whilst being knowledgable in most curriculums from pre-school all the way up to A- level.
*** PLEASE NOTE: I offer a consultation either in the student's home, online or over the phone. ***

Teaching Experience:

As a secondary school science teacher with over 10 years of tutoring experience and my own tutoring business, I tailor my lessons to everyone of students specifically. I approach teaching with a relaxed attitude where the student can really make the most out of every session without feeling bored or uncomfortable. I keep the sessions as interactive as possible and my teaching styles can be changed to suit every learning style!

Tutoring Approach:

I tailor every single lesson to every single individual I teach. My forte is teaching students without stressing, boring or tiring them. Most of my students repeat the comment "I can`t believe it is the end of the session, it went by so quickly!"; which is due to the fact that I make my lessons as engaging and fun as possible whilst not compromising on time or amount of content. Not many tutors are able to build a good relationship with their students by showing them they care about the individual rather than just each session. I LOVE teaching which is why I have not left the industry since I started. I can provide references from other parents/students proving to you how happy they have been with my service. I will not guarantee your child will achieve an A* in any given subject as that is also up to the student but I can guarantee that I will teach them as much as they can learn and make the lessons we have as fun, engaging and informative as possible.

Please Note: A surcharge will incur if I need to travel to you depending on distance. I have a fully enhanced DBS check (former CRB).

Personal Description:
I am Italian and I moved to the UK in 2005 and I have been living in UK since.
I love teaching Italian and I find it the most rewarding job I could ever do because since I have started it has enriched me as much as my students.
I believe that learning a language is more than just learning grammar and vocabulary, but it is the experience of communicating and exchanging part of the culture through it.

Teaching Experience:

I am an experienced qualified Italian teacher in both the UK and Italy.
Since moving to the UK in 2005, I have taught Italian in different colleges and in private tutorials to prepare GCSE, AS and A2 tests as well as teaching beginners courses or conversational Italian at home.
Thanks to my first class teaching, my students have obtained top GCSE level results (A - A*) as well as A levels ones.

I have also been teaching Maths for the past 5 years in Secondary schools up to GCSE level.
I am now working as a supply teacher specialized in Maths.

Tutoring Approach:

I am an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher, with high expectations for all my students, believing that with a personal and individual approach each student can achieve high level results in languages.
I strongly support the theory that the use of a creative curriculum enhances the pupils' willingness to learn as it allows teachers to deliver lessons based on themes close to them including stimulating cross-curricular activities. In less words, it has to be fun.
I have students that have been studying with me for many years now and we enjoy not only the pleasure of speaking Italian, but also the reciprocal understanding of the differences in the culture behind the language.
I am loyal and flexible to my students as much as they are with me.

Tutoring Approach:

I usually start with the current topics that student is studying in the school and explain to the student that topic and related background knowledge. As I teach one to one, my pace is faster than school and we usually finish the topic in one or sometimes two classes. And then we do previous topics and I explain doubts on those topics. I usually do not teach students that they already know, instead, start topic wise past papers of the topics students feel he or she knows well.

I explain to students how to write the answer to the questions asked,... not what they know... in a very concise and complete manner and relate the answers to the mark schemes of the past papers... and there is a lot of similar things that I explain...

About me:

A friendly, patient, supportive and passionate tutor with +10 years maths tutoring experience, dedicated to going the extra mile to help learners develop a clear understanding of maths topics, build exam confidence and improve grades.

Academic Background

My background is in Mathematics and Education. I studied BSc Mathematics at Heriot-Watt University and then graduated with BA Education with specialism in Numeracy at University of Stirling, which has led me into tutoring mathematics.

My tutoring experience

I am from the Bishopbriggs area and a former Bishopbriggs Academy student. I have been tutoring mathematics for +10 years, supporting students of all ages at different levels from primary to secondary level maths, both in-person and online across many parts of Glasgow such as the East Dunbartonshire Area: Bishopbriggs, Lenzie, Kirkintilloch, Bearsden, Milngavie and the Robroyston. Additionally, I have also tutored in areas outside of the East Dunbartonshire such as many parts of North Lanarkshire: Cumbernauld, Moodiesburn and Stepps and Glasgow City Council - Southside & Newton Mearns, tutoring pupils all over different parts of Glasgow. I have tutored at pupil's homes, my own and even online, if distance is an issue. I am more than willing to travel to other parts of Glasgow to provide the support where it is needed.

Extra about my services - Online Tutoring

Lastly, if distance is an issue, the option for online tutoring is available. The online lessons are easy to arrange, set-up and easy-to-use. The programme I use has all the necessary features for online teaching and above all it is free. I will also provide the necessary information to guide you through the process, if needs be. More information on this will be given upon request.

Teaching Experience:

My teaching experience in schools

I have also previously worked in numerous primary and secondary schools for many years across the East Dunbartonshire - Bishopbriggs and Kirkintilloch/ Lenzie and North Lanarkshire in the Cumbernauld area. This experience has allowed me to become a tutor with a strong maths understanding and familiarity with all levels of the school curriculum, assessments, exam and school procedures and exam topics and SQA marking scheme.

Student feedback

Over the years, I have consistently received overwhelming positive feedback from numerous students and parents, expressing their satisfaction in how much they liked my support in improving pupil's grades, confidence and exam performance. Previous pupils and parents have commonly said: "I like the way you explain things", "I find it easier to understand maths", "I feel more confident in maths", "she is more confident in maths", "I like the feedback in their progress" and "you have been very supportive". This has inspired me to continually and actively dedicate and provide my services to supporting pupils all over Glasgow.

I adopt a direct, systematic, step-by-step teaching approach, where lessons are structured in a way that makes maths easy to understand. Lessons will firstly focus on identifying gaps in knowledge, reinforced with ample practice questions and then progressing to past-paper level questions. I believe that the more you practice, the more confident you will become. This allows pupils to go into exams with confidence.

What will you get out of the lessons?

1. A structured, step-by-step teaching approach so lessons are clear and easy to understand with clear topic summary notes for revision and consistent updates on learner progress.

2. Lessons will be tailored around the pupil's learning needs and will firstly identify gaps in knowledge to establish a starting point, reinforced with ample practice questions and building towards exam-level questions. They will cover all maths topics but will prioritise specific areas the pupils have difficulty with or wish to focus on to ensure a strong maths foundation.

4. Provide homework & assignment support, guidance with classwork, exam preparation and past-paper practice.

5. Past-paper revision techniques and plenty of exam practice so pupils can feel confident going into the exam.

6. Recommendations of any books and teaching resources for exam practice will be provided.

If you have any queries please feel free to contact me via email or phone. I'd be delighted to answer any questions. I look forward to working with you. Thank you.

Alexander

Personal Description:
Greetings! I'm a dedicated and passionate Computer Science student at King's College London, with a drive to make learning an engaging and empowering experience for all my students. My journey has been one of continuous growth, from helping classmates with homework to mentoring students and even my own siblings. These experiences have not only honed my academic skills but also deepened my understanding of the challenges students face. My commitment to learning goes beyond academics; I'm an avid problem solver and believe in fostering creativity and critical thinking. Outside of the academic realm, I enjoy exploring the intersections of technology, art, and society, which often provides unique insights that I love to share with my students.

Teaching Experience:

My journey as an educator has been shaped by diverse experiences. I've tutored primary school students, assisting them in grasping fundamental concepts through interactive and relatable methods. With high school students, including A-level candidates, I've delved into the complexities of Computer Science, Maths, Physics, and Chemistry making abstract ideas tangible through real-world examples. Beyond technical skills, I've been a mentor, helping students build study strategies, time-management skills, and self-confidence. My approach involves creating a comfortable environment where questions are welcomed, mistakes are seen as stepping stones, and learning is tailored to individual needs. Through various roles, I've realized that education is not just about information transfer, but about inspiring a hunger for knowledge that extends beyond the classroom.

Tutoring Approach:

My tutoring approach can be summed up in three words: Engage, Empower, Elevate. I firmly believe that engagement is the cornerstone of effective learning. I strive to make even the most abstract concepts relatable by drawing parallels to everyday experiences. This fosters curiosity and a desire to explore further. Empowerment comes from creating a safe space for students to voice their questions and ideas without hesitation. Together, we tackle challenges, building not only subject mastery but also self-assurance. Lastly, elevation entails guiding students to see beyond the immediate coursework, encouraging them to think critically and relate their learning to broader contexts. Through a balance of guidance and autonomy, I aim to equip my students with skills that extend well beyond exams-skills that will serve them throughout their academic and personal journeys.

Personal Description:
I have grown up studying the art of teaching and how students learn well. I have a broad education and can talk about ancient history, the elements of classical music, Latin texts, Jane Austen and Charles Dickens, Italian literature, and of course anything to do with maths and numbers.

I achieved an A1 in maths and was in the top 2.5 percentile for my year for Leaving Certificate (a broader A Level equivalent) reflecting my abilities in both maths and exam preparation.

Teaching Experience:

I have regularly taught in different ways while reading maths and Italian at Trinity College Dublin and have since started a PGCE teacher training course in maths. During my training I have gained extensive experience delivering lessons via OneNote and Microsoft Whiteboard via tablet and smart board, equipping me for effective online teaching of maths.

I already have experience teaching a weekly class of 10 young teenagers Latin as well as tutored maths, Music, and Latin to different ages and types of students. I'm a patient and considerate teacher and hope to bridge the gap that often plagues students in mathematics. I promise to be a good tutor and guide during some of the most formative and decisive years of your life.

Tutoring Approach:

My focus is on building the skills and concepts learnt at school through one-to-one 45-minute tutoring/grinds or small group lessons.

I aim to give an individual-focused approach. The lessons will focus on student's previous work and aim to improve skills and concepts already established. Great effort will be given to finding real world examples to motivate the exercises and to grasp or master a topic. The student will be encouraged to work out exercise in the tutor's presence and correct flaws or improve methods themselves.

I am willing to meet in Canterbury or give online lessons via Microsoft Apps such as OneNote, Whiteboard, and Teams.

I cover the GCSE curriculum as well as the pure Maths and Statistics aspects of A Level.

I am also available for university maths for 1st year and general maths tutoring for STEM subjects.

Personal Description:
I am a private tutor based in Orpington, London. I tutor Maths and Sciences up to GCSE and tutor Maths, Biology and Chemistry at A-Level/IB. I can tutor online or in person.

Having finished my PhD at the University of Cambridge, I am now a qualified European Patent Attorney in Life Sciences and Biotechnology. I am also a Founder and CEO at a number of start-up companies.

My academic qualifications include:

PGCert Intellectual Property Law, Queen Mary University of London (2020)
PhD Biotechnology, University of Cambridge (2017)
MSc Biochemical Engineering, University College London (2012)
BSc Medical Biochemistry, King's College London (2011)
International Baccalaureate (36), Bexley Grammar School (2008)
Maths (HL): 6
Biology (HL): 6
Chemistry (HL): 6
GCSE (12 A* + A), Bexley Grammar School (2006)

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored students from a number of schools in the South East, such as St. Olave's, Newstead, Townley, Beths, Bexley Grammar, Bullers Wood, Eltham College and Sevenoaks, as well as many more across the UK.

I also tutor many Chinese students attending various boarding schools across the UK.

I have experience with all major UK exam boards and can provide my students with relevant study materials.

Tutoring Approach:

Every student is different and my teaching style is adapted to their individual needs once we have identified their weaknesses.

I believe understanding is the best approach to learning and teaching. There's no point in just memorising things if you don't understand where they came from. I explain things in such a way that it is easy to understand, and I am very patient.

However, I cannot perform miracles. Students aiming for top grades would be expected to do some homework in between sessions.

I also offer a lot of flexibility. If the student has learnt something in school they didn't quite understand, I can go over the topic again with them during our lesson. If the student understood everything in school, I can teach them new topics to prepare them for when they learn that topic in school. Lastly, near exam times, I can offer intense exam revision and exam paper practice.

You will not be disappointed!

I have a walking impairment and due to this disability only tutor from my home.
