I pride myself on building excellent relationships with my tutees, and endeavour to instil in them a love of maths and a 'can-do' attitude. I liaise weekly with parents so they know how their children are progressing.

Since last year all my tutoring has taken place online. This has been highly successful with both my tutees and their parents preferring this method as it affords more flexibility and enables me to help students from across the country as well as internationally. I have worked with students from KS2 all the way through to GCSE.

My planning is completely flexible and is built around my student's progress and needs. I seek to identify common misconceptions and ensure that students have a solid foundation on which to build. I am patient and am used to explaining concepts in several different ways to find the way that works for each individual. I focus on helping students understand the 'why' not just the 'how.' Constant review is key in Maths and I build this into every lesson.

I love working with young people and am passionate about providing students with the best possible education that will benefit them throughout their adult lives. I love seeing them grow in confidence and ability as well as developing a real enjoyment of the subject. As a student of mathematics for over 25 years (and counting!), I have dedicated the past five years to making mathematics accessible to secondary students around the world.

After graduating from the University of Birmingham with a 1st Class BSc Hons in Economics, I worked as an ICAEW Chartered Accountant at professional services firm, PwC.

In search of a more fulfilling profession, I made the move into teaching through the Teach First programme in 2018 as a secondary mathematics teacher.
