Tutoring Approach:
For some students, gaining confidence with many of the concepts and ideas presented in geography at Key Stage 4 or 5 is difficult - especially considering the pressures of coursework, ongoing assessment and the natural workload provided by other subjects. Yet these concepts underpin much of the reality that geography deals with.
My approach to tutoring is to enthuse the often overwhelmed student first and foremost with 'real', accessible geography. I teach in a confident, friendly and patient manner. I use a range of resources to keep my teaching stimulating, interesting and exciting. I encourage active interaction within my tutoring in order to gain the best from the children I teach. I build a strong rapport with the children, so that they enjoy their subject and fully benefit from the teaching. I use a range of individually tailored resources and teaching styles for each child I teach and use different methods specific to their learning.
Ultimately I aim to make the children enthusiastic about learning, and confident in their knowledge and understanding of the subject.
