I have a BA Honours Degree in English Studies from Aleppo University in Syria in 2000. I embarked on two Postgraduate Diplomas at Aleppo University one in Linguistics (2002); the other in Education and Qualification in 2003. In both of these Diplomas I was awarded a Distinction. In 2002, I was fortunate in gaining a scholarship to study in the UK and was nominated to study in the department of Language and Linguistics at the University of Essex. I found this course to be immensely useful to me as a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) professional as I was able to observe a range of different EAP (English for Academic Purposes)classrooms; make academic presentations and really developed my love of scholarship which fired me with the enthusiasm to read for a PhD degree. I finished my doctorate in TESOL at the University of Ulster entitled "EAP Teachers Approaches to Giving Written Feedback on Academic Writing in British and Syrian ELT Centres". . It is the application of an integrating approach for the development of communicative skills in the lesson, in which the four skills in the acquisition of knowledge of a foreign language can be taught in a coherent way, and practiced together, with a distinction of the importance of one upon the other. One image for teaching English as a second or foreign language (ESL/EFL) is that of a tapestry. The tapestry is woven from many strands, such as the characteristics of the teacher, the learner, the setting, and the relevant languages (i.e., English and the native languages of the learners and the teacher). For the instructional loom to produce a large, strong, beautiful, colorful tapestry, all of these strands must be interwoven in positive ways. Hello. I am a fully qualified teacher with experience across the whole of the primary curriculum, including special needs and teaching for SATS tests . I continually update my teaching, mainly through the National Education Union online training sessions. Whereas for maths my lessons combine practice with past papers, targeted revision techniques, and personalised feedback to strengthen weak areas. I aim to give students both the skills and confidence they need to achieve top grades in both subjects.

I am a qualified teacher with over 25 years of experience teaching children from EYFS through to Year 6, and I now also tutor GCSE Maths.

Outside of teaching, I am married, a proud mum of two children who are both now at university, and owner of a small dog who keeps me busy with daily walks! Having raised my own children through school, exams and university applications, I understand the challenges that families can face and the importance of providing encouragement as well as academic support.

As an experienced teacher with over 25 years in education, I have taught and supported learners across the full primary age range, from EYFS to Year 6. I now combine this expertise with GCSE Maths tutoring, helping pupils close gaps in knowledge, improve grades and develop confidence in their abilities.

At the start of our work together, I assess each student's strengths, areas for development and preferred learning style so that lessons can be carefully tailored to their specific goals. Whether a child needs support in building strong foundations in Maths and English, preparation for SATs, 11+ or 13+ entrance examinations, additional challenge in primary subjects, or targeted help to improve their GCSE Maths grade, every lesson is designed to meet their needs.

I use a variety of resources and teaching strategies to keep learning enjoyable and accessible, enjoyable and effective.
